A Woman's Touch [ Dictated ]

[ There is a heavy sigh and a disgruntled snort that leak over the journals in the mid morning. If anyone knows Vanyel well, this usually announces the fact he is out with Yfandes, his horse-shaped Companion. And in fact, he is. He's holding up strips of ribbon to her so she can decide which she wants braided into her hair for the wedding, but so far no success. Not even tiny jewels like pearls or inexpensive crystals have piqued her interest.

So, finally, it has come to this. ]

If it is not to much trouble, I think I might need a lady's advice on this matter, or a gentleman's if he wishes to offer it. I seem to only be knowledgeable in the proper attire for men and have no sense of what a proper lady should be wearing to a wedding, according to my Companion.

So, ladies of Paradisa, your advice if you would be so kind?

Yfandes doesn't need ornaments, Van. (Tylendel strides into the stable, his hands in his pockets.) She's gorgeous as she is. Why not give her a good brush and then shine her hooves?

(He knows Yfandes is well-cared for, but a little ego-stroking won't hurt. He is fond of the Companion and he wants her to look however she wants.)

I know she looks wonderful all the time, but I thought she might like a little something for the wedding - few braids with ribbons perhaps.

It's up to her, Ashke. A lady knows what she wants. (He winks at Yfandes and strokes over her neck.) I know she'll outshine me, but you will too, so I'll deal with it.

Darling, I think you severely underestimate your ability to look ravishing in white.

She is well aware. Hence my prudence now in asking for outside opinion.

I only mean that men like us aren't exactly proper by nature, at least according to popular standards. I've certainly never heard of, let alone seen, a wedding in which there were two grooms, so there isn't exactly a precedence for this sort of thing as far as I am aware. I doubt one of you would want to wear a lacy white wedding gown, unless of course you were inclined for that sort of thing.

Well, perhaps one of us might, but I think we shall keep that between ourselves and our marriage bed.

I think my point stands. You aren't conventional, so why dress that way. If you want sound aesthetic advice, your best option is to either dress the same or in a complimentary fashion.
