Forgive my silence these past few days and my silence in the days to come. As a great many of you know, I was not untouched by recent events. Be reassured, I have recovered, for the most part. I need only time to regain composure and sense of myself.

[Don't think that she hasn't been paying attention to what's going on- both through the journals and in the form of what magics she can sense. She knows. And it bears commenting on, even if a brief message is all she really has the energy for.]

I have found comfort in it, yes- and beauty and wisdom also. You are not like to gain a convert, but I have gained in understanding, I think, and been given much to contemplate.

[ It sounds like she's been favoring the New Testament, but who could blame her? The Old is a little more with the brimstone and Hellfire. Not quite as good at inspiring kindness, but both service Anne at different times. ]

[There's that- and there's also the fact that she's a little too diplomatic to bring up the aspects that she didn't like so much- at least right now. While she has no objection to philosophic debate, she doesn't exactly have the energy for it at the moment.]

I wish only that I had something to give you in turn. There is little written of Eru Ilúvatar and the Valar; most of the lore that has been passed through the generations has been shared through verse and song.

[Ah- but then something occurs to her.] The Ainulindalë has been transcribed; I believe I have a copy. [Perfect memory means she doesn't consult it very often.] It is our account of creation- or rather that of the Valar, as told to us in the days before the dawn.

I have no doubt you will rebound admirably. [His flattery sounds a bit weary today, but flattery it is nonetheless]

I must, then. I would hate to disappoint. [Her tone is as much worn as it is cocky, but it's an attempt at her usual type of answer, anyway.] And how do you fare?

The...after-effects seem to have finally dissipated. The dreams may take longer.

I would offer you a sleeping draught, but I imagine you would be able to make something just as effective.

[Normally Galadriel's praise would be enough to fluster Dairine (in a good way). However, Dairine is tired after all the action, given how much energy her wizardry takes. A big event like this always leaves Dairine tired, though this one was worse from how personal it ended up being. She's also worried about what Galadriel said, "I was not untouched."]

Anyway, how are you now?

I am weary, in both body and spirit, and I am heartsick, but I will recover. And you, little one?

Galadriel

[Dairine gulps. Not just because hearing how Galadriel is fairing weighs on her heart, but the fact that she was so forthright about it says a lot about how rough it's been.]

I've been better. [An understatement. This trumps the Event Horizon in her books.]

Dairine

[Rough enough that she knows there's little point in hiding it. And she knows Dair well enough, too, to know that there's more trouble behind those words than most would guess. There's a short pause.]

If you would forgive my less-than-polished appearance, pinig, I would not now object to your company.

Are you well now?

[Galadriel had been one of the people Will had worried about most through this. ]

I am- or, at least, the symptoms have passed. To be truly well again will, I think, take time. [She was shaken, deeply shaken, and there's little point in lying about it.]

Time heals all wounds, is it? [Will wonders if that was really true. Even if he had not been injured in this, he had seen far too many friends hurt. HE did not think he would be forgetting any time soon. ]

[A bitter little laugh] I think my experiences as of late are rather proof to the contrary; some wounds never fully heal. But the ache will dull and I will continue on, as I always have.
