Forgive my silence these past few days and my silence in the days to come. As a great many of you know, I was not untouched by recent events. Be reassured, I have recovered, for the most part. I need only time to regain composure and sense of myself.

[Don't think that she hasn't been paying attention to what's going on- both through the journals and in the form of what magics she can sense. She knows. And it bears commenting on, even if a brief message is all she really has the energy for.]

[Meanwhile, he'll wish up a couple of glasses and a bottle to store the wine in for ease of transport before visiting.]

[And Galadriel will be there to answer the door for him when he arrives. She is dressed, of course; it would be improper, otherwise. But very simply so, in a light cotton dress rather than one of her usual gowns. And she is pale, terribly pale, even for one whose skin is normally described as "white and unstained."

She is, as she said, clearly not at her best. But her expression does brighten a touch when she sees Legolas and she offers a little nod and steps to the side to let him in.]

Legolas. Please come in.

[He pauses at the sight of her, expression turning soft. After a moment though, he does step inside, raising the bottle in offering and with a smile.]

I hope that you do not mind that I brought Dorwinion. I still have plenty left. [At least the two of them can enjoy it better than the guests at their celebration had been able to.]

Quite the contrary. I am most grateful. [Ever the hostess, even now, she gestures to the sitting room, waiting for him to take his seat before she will follow suit.] It is a rare treat for me.

[He's supposed to be here for you, Galadriel. You don't have to be a hostess, gosh. He does take a seat though, if only so she will.]

Well, you are welcome to help yourself any time you wish. [Especially right now. He doubts they'll go through an entire bottle so he'll end up leaving the rest with her.]

[It works. She sits and finally starts to relax]

You are far too kind, Legolas. [And she's not just talking about the wine.] How long have you been here now? Do you know offhand?

[Once she sits down, he opens the bottle and pours her a glass, offering it to her and not pouring one for himself until she takes it.]

I would do nothing less for those I care about. [Oh.] I have not honestly thought a great deal about it. Ten months, I believe?

[And she accepts it, of course, looking down at the glass in quiet contemplation as she speaks.] It has been over three years since I first found myself here. A short time indeed, by the standards of our people. And yet... [And yet it seems much longer, especially now.]

I understand, I think. [He does, even if his time here is much shorter so far.] It is not forever at least. If my previous visit here is anything to go by.

I know it well, but even my patience is not limitless. It is times such as these, frankly, that make my heart ache for home most strongly. [She takes a long sip of the Dorwinion.] For family.

It is admirable though, your patience. [He's kind of glad he brought a bottle for her.] I wish there was something more I could do to help.

You do a great deal to help already. [She sets down her glass and reaches out to place her hand on his.] I do not wish to sound ungrateful. When I arrived here, you were a respected ally, but little more. Now, you are also a dear friend.

[He can't help but smile. A dear friend. He isn't sure whether she realizes how much it means to him.]

I promise you, you do not sound ungrateful. And I am glad to consider you a friend as well.
