14 - fury of the night - action

[Along all the other miscellaneous spooky noises and mysterious happenings, there's the sound of soft scratches on the floor. You might move closer, or farther away, but either way, it stops. And then, in the darkness, just out of light's reach, there's a pair of bright yellow eyes. If you come closer, it goes away, before coming back in another spot. If you move away, it seems to follow you.

After some time, the eyes disappear, too, and there's a very eerie silence where it seems the thing haunting you must have left.

And then you turn around, and holy shit it's a dragon.

Actually, there's been a dragon here for the past seven months or so, but it looks like some people will have to find that out the hard way.]

[Having his night vision at a less than optimal working condition, meant Rookie couldn't figure out where the curious pair of eyes disappeared to. Which made his senses go on high alert for the slightest movement as he gingerly moved his helmet back and forth. Trying his best to strain his eyesight to figure out just where the thing went.]

[As Rookie's night vision flickers, he might just see the outline of something quite large skirting past him. There's a soft sound where leather rubs briefly against Rookie's armor on his legs.]

[It's enough for him to take notice, but a little late for him to react in terms of moving away before the large mass brushes past him. Though he's instantly hopping to the side and quickly whipping around to face where the shadow went after. That hand still lingering close to his weapon, but seeing as he hasn't exactly been attacked yet, he's still staying on the defensive.]

Come on out and stop hiding.

[For a moment, there's complete silence. And then, some light shuffling. And when Rookie has his attention focused on a particular spot for long enough--

--something decidedly wet drags itself across Rookie's visor.]

[AW DAMN IT NOT AGAIN.

Rookie gives off a sound that was between disgust and surprise as he took a few steps back. Though he had a feeling he already knew who the big black mass was at this point, and was just as quickly laughing.]

There are better ways to greet me, you know.

[There's a deep, breathy, reverberating sound which sounds rather like laughing.

It's because he is laughing.]

[That only causes the man to raise a hand and try to playfully push against the dragon's forehead with another laugh.] You do realize it's a bit dangerous to be playing in the dark like that, right?

[A bit of a skeptical look here. He's a night fury, you know!]

[There's a look back, judging by the way his helmet shifts to hint as much. Though he still sounded fairly lighthearted. ]

Guess today hasn't affecting you all that much, huh?

[He snorts and tosses his head, though that's not necessarily a no.
