[When Ohjiro left the Layer after his defeat to Misaki, he was on his way to the video room of the stadium- after all, he had his brother and former crush to face after he lost the battle. When he'd seen the door swish open in front of him, he'd expected to see the dim light of the video room to greet him and the stare of his older step brother...

He wasn't expecting to end up staring at a Game Room instead.]

What?

[He looked around, stepping into the room with a blue doll resting in his right hand. This was certainly perplexing to say the least. There wasn't a room like this in the stadium that he knew of... did he take a wrong turn somewhere when he was lost in thought? He gives a quiet chuckle.]

Has my big brother been remodeling without my knowing?

[He takes a few more steps in the room, unaware of that strange open journal laying on a nearby arcade cabinet that happens to be picking up everything. Not seeing anyone immediately, he decides to call out.]

Hello! Is there anybody here?

[The Doctor keeps secrets. He always has done. No matter how pleasant and open this incarnation of him is, there are some things he cannot share. Whole chunks of his life are shrouded in mystery, even to the people that know him the best. As a first point alone, there's the universe's oldest and simplest question posed to him everywhere he goes, and still that remains without an answer.

He keeps his secrets. Circling the TARDIS console, brushing a hand affectionately along its edge, he's sitting on several. The last time he thought about being proactive after what happened with the Lewis and Clark and the Event Horizon, he took an extended nap courtesy of the castle's beverage gift. Applying caution with his intentions and a thought that sits just on the edge of his consciousness, all he wants is to talk to the castle. To ask why. To have a reason and to understand. It's what everyone here wants and he is no different in that regard, except he has the means to at least try and he has his curiosity and questions that drive him forward.

In the meantime he is preparing, clearing his mind, finding calm and marking a point there. Attempting this with any animosity will not help his cause. Stopping at the back of the console he takes a piece of broken blue crystal from his pocket, rolls it around in his hand and then absently tosses it up and down, never missing the catch.

Presently that goes back into his pocket and he takes his journal from off the console. Out of the TARDIS and leaving his room, he's dictating as he goes.

Good morning, everyone, it's the Doctor here. I hope you are all well and that everyone has sufficiently recovered or are doing so from our little trip to Isla Sorna and San Diego. I should think that many of us are glad to see the back of that little sojourn and a certain company especially.

I'm about to make my rounds of the castle and gather a head count as I go, a nice little morning walk and catch up seems to be in order. Yes, I do know CastleNet is available, but I find it far much better to stretch my legs, take in a bit of exercise, and besides, I like to talk. So you may very well see me around this morning. However, I do have some errands to run before the day gets too long. Anything small that anyone needs I'm more than pleased to add to my list, so do feel free to ask.

Well, I for one am glad Dinosaurs are extinct.   What a bunch of bastards.

[Church stares at the journal for a while longer,  writing filters to Natasha and crossing them out.  He's just not up to another argument.  Maybe he can get into the workshop in Stark Tower and get out without any problems.  Avoid things for a bit longer, until he can figure out what's going on.]

I've been doing some thinking. We do a lot of running when we don't have our powers when the world changes.

Would it be a good idea to make some sort of obstacle course in the dead zone? That way we can prepare to run through dangerous areas without powers and keep fit.

[added in as an afterthought]

I can also teach stealth a little. That should come in handy if we have to move in a group.

[Currently outside, Rinzler's taking a bit of a break from throwing a user toy, a frisbee he wished for after finding a reference to one in something he read for his Pokemon to chase. They're demanding, but in a good way. They keep him busy so that he doesn't dwell on his thoughts all the time.]

[written]
Users invent useful things. Did not expect frisbee to work so well with Pokemon. Are there other toys out there like it to try for tiring out restless Pokemon?

So, I'm curious about something. I've heard there're dinosaurs like what we saw at Isla Sorna at Lastlook? Are they clones too? I'm just...I've never met another clone before, so I'm kinda curious. In hindsight, I feel kinda bad for giving a few of them the pounding that I did.

Hey Doc, do you have a few minutes? I wanted to ask you about some medical stuff.

[Snip. Snip. Sssssnip.

There's the distinct metallic hiss of scissors over the journal, late Sunday evening. Alex is sitting on a blanket out on the castle grounds, an earbud playing faintly-audible rock music in one ear, and a pair of scissors in her hand; she's cutting her hair, dark locks falling onto the grass as she chops it right up to her neck.]

You know, it's stupid how we freak out over how long we've all been here, and then forget the most stupidly obvious dates. Like birthdays.

[Snip. Snip.]

I guess I'm nineteen now, or something. Glad I forgot, or that whole dinosaur bullcrap would have been the worst birthday present ever. And that's counting the pirate thing a couple years back.

[She stops what she's doing to hold up her mirrors, trying to catch a look at the back of her hand. Anyone walking past who would like to offer an extra hand - or just a conversation - would be sneered at but much appreciated.]

Right, since things have calmed down a little bit more...

[There's some shuffling of papers.]

Does anyone here know anything about oriental history? Someone to talk with about the things I've found since coming here would be great.

Or, if anyone's interested, I teach Oriental Studies at a University in Maine, but I'm sure I could come up with a syllabus for beginners, and language lessons, too! I can speak and write fluent Chinese. I can probably do French and German, too.

And I'm looking for gym partners. Mostly people to spot me when doing weights, but running partners wouldn't be too bad.

My name's Professor David Webb. If anyone's got any questions, please feel free to ask.

[This is partly for his own sanity. To do something, get himself working, thinking, teaching... He had to look after himself now.]
