[London knew there was something familiar about this place. She'd been to Tokyo many times when she was back home. Being rich had its advantages, and getting to travel a lot was definitely one of them. But there seems to be something off, that she can't quite put her finger on. Somehow it doesn't seem as up-to-date as it did before. nd a lot less colorful. It doesn't really bother her though, as technology only interested her if it involved social media. And being in the castle for so long, she'd almost forgotten what a smartphone was. Not even the brick phones jog her memory of them.

London figured that while she's here, she might as well do a little of what she enjoys most: shopping! If you run into her in the Harajuku district, you'll find her, but strangely enough, she won't be in the greatest of moods.]

Ugh! This is so much harder than it used to be!

[[OOC: London's realizing the harshness of her loss. Drop by and comfort her?]]

[There is the sound of music over the journal suddenly - the unmistakable blare of 80s music and off-key singing - though somewhat in the background and mixed with the clink of bottles and laughter.

Some of that laughter is much closer. A deep, wavering chuckle of someone who is probably less than sober.
]

I can't believe I've never done this before. It's fun. Even if you can't sing. Especially if you can't sing...

Hey Vicious...Vicious...

They're closing up. You should...you should come and get me. Do you know they have special hotels down here? [He giggles more] Maybe there's one with a space theme...

Just like I thought, nobody has heard of Yamagato Industries or the Nakamura family. I don't know... It was worth a shot.

[There's an entry in the journal today, written in shaky hotel pen.]

Hello magic book!

Yesterday I learned that people can talk in you but I hope writing in you works the same way!

I woke up in a strange building with lots and lots of weird things, but I met a big, silly puppy so I wasn't so scared! And the people in the...what's the word? Restaurant? They make yummy food for me! So maybe this place isn't so scary after all! Though the tomato sauce for the pasta is kind of strange...so it's still a strange building.

I think I would like to make lots and lots more friends here!

[And at the bottom of the page there is a very nice ink sketch of the big silly puppy he met in the lobby. It's even shaded!]

You know, I don't mind a change of scenery now and again, especially when it's as entertaining as this one has been so far...

[He has sort of missed television, even if he can't understand a word of it, and Tokyo fashion is right up his ally, really]

But I do wish I could keep my magic intact. Do you have any idea how long it takes to do one's hair the old-fashioned way?

[Hello, Aquanet, goodbye ozone layer]

Anyone care to go shopping?

[Chell's becoming all too familiar with world changes. So when she wakes up in her soft, posh bed in the luxury hotel, she's only barely confused. She rolls out of bed, gets into her clothes, brushes her hair, throws it back into a ponytail and stares around the room. She's familiar with TVS. There's one in the game room, but what's that thing sitting beside it? That doesn't look like any DVD player she's ever seen. And those aren't a stack of DVDs next to it either. Huge, bulky squares of plastic with silvery tape inside. Are these some weird form of cassette? They'd not fit in any cassette player she knows of. But no matter. She'll fool with that later. For now she's got bigger fish to fry. Like finding out where she is. But there's a label on one of the stack of odd cassettes that catches her eye. "Tokyo: In living Color."

Tokyo?

[She mutters softly. She's read about this place. Quite a bit actually. And she's read about the various small shrines that dot the city... And with one quick thought, she knows where she's going today. But she needs to ask the residents at large a question, assuming that they're there and it's not just her in Tokyo.]

If one wanted to go see shrines to the gods people worship here, they could, yes? And if so, in what ways would it be appropriate to pay respect? I have only rudimentary knowledge of religion, and much of that is from books. So, I figured someone might know more than me, and I have read enough to know that it differs by culture, and custom. So, I wondered, are any of you from this part of the world, and would not mind filling me in?

[That done, she closes her journal, shoves a pen into her pocket, and troops out to meet the day.]
