[At first, there's nothing but the sound of a book being quietly opened, and the light flipping of pages. Flip. Flip. Flip. Far too close to one another for any page to be properly read.
And then stops. And after a period of silence, a tired, mirthless couple of chuckles are quickly transcribed and transmitted through the pages]
To think, the denizens of Hell would go to such lengths to receive me. Such lavish furnishings do not fit the Demon Realm. And that does not even broach the subject of this book, the inane little gimmick it is. [Despite his words, there is absolutely no humor in his tone.]
I demand an explanation. If not from the scum that chose to snatch me away, then from those that fill this book with utter nonsense and idiocy. And I will only say this once, and you should be thankful for it.
I am in no mood for games. Think to play one with me, and I will see to it you do not live to regret it.
Don't keep me waiting.
[And the book snaps shut]

I trust you can tell me, then, who told you the very same? And of your trust for them? [footsteps. Then a window opens]
Seeing as you did say anyone.

I've been here five years, I've seen it all for myself. Pretty sure I'm not crazy or mentally compromised, so.
Why don't you try asking for something? An object, like a sandwich, or a book, or something. It'll appear out of thin air, and then hopefully we can at least agree there are weird magic things going on around here.

Five. Years. [Stop the ride, my sanity wants off]
Anything? Fine. Give me an apple. [...thunk. An apple lands on his book
And there
Is nothing
but silence]

Most people don't stay that long.
[a pause, as she hears that thunk, and then waits for a reaction. when it doesn't come:]
I told you so.

It is a start. [STUBBORN!!!11!]

Well, not everything has some kind of instant gratification like that. If you can't believe the words of others, then observe for yourself and make your own conclusions.

How inconvenient.

Don't tell me you aren't capable of having a little patience.

What do you think?
[He's got a hunch here.]

I think you can do it if you try.

How incredibly stock.

It probably helps to mention that anyone who dies gets brought back to life, though.

Oh. Right. My bad! Compared to you, I guess I just didn't want to know enough! You must be sooo smart! You must be sooo very different from all the other inter-dimensional travelers and demons and angels and warriors!
