[What ho Paradisa. If you are the lobby now, you might find a somewhat unusual sight: three kids - well, two kids and one young teenager, really, the teenager conspicuously naked and sprawled out on one of the lobby couches. The teenager has long blue hair and is filthy. The kids are relatively clean, one of them - the older boy - graced with a crown of pale blond hair, the other a smaller little girl wearing a traditional robe and black pigtails. There's a journal nearby of course, and it picks up a voice which might sound a bit familiar:]

Hey... person! Hey! How come you're naked?

[Then the younger boy:] Because he's got no clothes, stupid.

I'm not stupid! [That seems to rile the little girl up; she gives the boy next to her a push.

It looks like this minor ruckus is enough to wake the third boy anyhow.] Whuh...?

[What do, Paradisa?]

[Oh, he's feeling pretty suspicious himself. Must be catching.]

You're quite right. They should be.

[He kneels down in front of Legato and reaches out to get a better look. The condition the boy was in was appalling, and the chains gave a familiar sense of foreboding]

[Good, maybe this grown-up will do something.]

I don't know how anybody'd do that, though. Do you?

[Zelman, meanwhile, says nothing. he just steps up towards Felix's side and pushes his hand away from Legato.

and looks at him.]

[oh. he just quietly freezes up when the man reaches for him, automatically going still]

And then the other kid goes and pushes away the man's hand, and some of the color just immediately drains from his face.

Of all the stupid things... his eyes go wide and he just. stares. and waits for something terrible to happen]

[Felix stops, though he doesn't retract the hand either, arching a brow at the smaller boy]

I'm not going to hurt him. I need to see how these chains are on him, so I can figure out how to remove them.

Oh! You can take 'em off?

[he sort of... glances over at Legato before he moves his hand back. he's going to remain standing there, though.]

You can do that if you tell me who you are.

[who does this little kid even think he is?

He's completely caught between wanting to shut the kid up before something bad happens, and making sure to remain still and compliant so that he stays on this guy's good side.

...He would kind of really like to have these shackles off, though--he remembers it happening before--so he stays quiet, glancing between the man and the brazen boy]

[He rests the hand on his upraised knee]

I won't know until I can look. And I can't, I'm sure I can find someone who can...

[He looks at the younger boy again]

My name is Felix. And you are...?

[Just waits. WILL YOU CHOOSE TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF, ZELMAN?]

[...he moves away and climbs his way up onto farthest end of the couch. kicks his feet a little.]

My name is Zelman. That's Rin. [pointing towards her! and then to Legato.] He doesn't have a name.

[...well, he doesn't interject to correct the other boy, anyway.

He's just preoccupied with suddenly being kind of... left here with the man while Zelman wanders farther away. Looking antsy.]

[Felix manages to hide his surprise, but he figures that makes it even more likely that the older boy is Legato.

He extends his hand towards Legato's shackles again]

No name, hm?

[He gingerly turns the boy's wrists over to get a better look at the bindings, trying not to alarm him overmuch]

How did you end up like this?

[Rin just scoots back to stand by the couch and hop up on the cushions. She wants to watch.]

[he watches as well. he also really wants to know this guy's answer.]

[the anxiety is written all over him, but he's automatically compliant when the man takes his wrists to inspect. Big iron shackles and chopped-off bits of chain, excessively heavy for his relatively small frame. The skin underneath is broken and raw, as if he was dragged around or hung by them recently.

And this is what he assumes the man is referring to, and not the general signs of captivity.

He half-glances toward the other kids, acutely aware of the fact that he's being stared at]

...I made them mad.

[He more he sees, the more he feels almost physically ill, and the more he wants to help the boy. He's sure it's Legato at this point, which only makes the state of him highly relevant to recent events. Part of him wonders if the castle is trying to make a point.

Sadly, while he has the magic to lock things, doing the opposite isn't quite the same principal, and he doesn't quite trust himself with trying to force them himself]

...that would do it. We should take you to clinic after these are off.

...and then get you a bath.

[He thinks for a moment. Well, lacking lockpicks, there was always...]

Do you know if there is a key for these?

[Watching...]

[...little!Zelman squints at the locks. he can undo really simple ones, but he hadn't even thought about these might be like. they look heavy.]

Or a pick.

[glancing between the man and the boy]

There's a key... but it's not here.

Sadly, I lack my brother's skill with picks...

[He gave Zelman a small, wry smile]

I wonder, though...

Castle, can I have the key to these shackles please?

[POOF. A key lands in the palm of his hand. How about them apples?]

Wow! Is there anything it can't bring?

[well dang. that is pretty convenient.]

Wow.

[random things appearing out of thin air is one thing... but very specific ones??

He recognizes it immediately]

Wha-- that's it!
