Case #01 [Accidental dictation]

You, over there. Please, tell me at once! I...I have a briefing to attend in but ten minutes! What could you possibly --No! I have no time for wanton merrymaking! I must get to the courthouse immediately!

 

Since when did eveyone become so miserly with mere directions? I simply want to know how to -- would you please cease that at once!

[He smiles broadly and gives a thumbs-up before traipsing off toward his room at the end of the hall.]

He looks far too happy about this.

[When he arrives outside his own room, he cracks open the door and scoots in. The place is a mess... as per usual. He sighs and looks around at it once, winces, and then holds the door open for Edgeworth. Might as well get the lecture on cleanliness over with now.

At least he'll go and try to straighten the blanket on the futon a little, once he's no longer needed at the door. And he'll throw his dirty clothes in a pile in the corner rather than everywhere else around the room, too.]

[S-Seriously? I am sleeping here? On a floor? Sigh. Just...motherfucking sigh.]



[...There are just so many terrible things he could say right now. But he reminds himself that his mouth is sometimes the reason why he can't have nice things (i.e. friends), so he simply keeps his mouth shut.]


[And here I thought he wanted to be nice to me...]

[Finished with his "cleaning," Phoenix goes back to typing.

"I know it's not your style at all. But you're welcome to it." He sort of gestures lamely to the futon. "It's pretty comfortable."]

So, to cover up all the NOT AWKWARD, Phoenix sets about throwing down some blankets and... shirts and whatever else he can find to make a place to sleep on the other side of the room, giving Edgeworth as much personal space as possible. He tries, he really does]

...Would you have not preferred a...bed?

[He flops down on the floor and grins.

"I'm not picky! That futon is comfortable!"]

...Are you sure?

[He nods.

"Positive."

And he absently adjusts his pile of "bedding."]

[Stares wistfully at the futon prepared for him.]

[...Then sits on it.]

[He smiles, a little--he didn't really think Edgeworth would stay, but he's glad to have some friendly familiar company for the night.

"Tell me if you need anything. Or just wish for it?" He chuckles.]

"You'll be fine, I promise."]

[...He then eases up, and drags the futon closer to Phoenix's, so that it is perpendicular to Phoenix's head-end. He sits back down.]


...It's a headache trying to gather what you're trying to say from all the way over there.

[He repeats the message first before continuing, "I bet you'll feel better about everything if you get some rest."]

[Ruminates about dozens of things - including the possibility of seeming horrendously ungrateful if he were to test the magic theory by ordering a bed.]


...I am feeling a bit peckish. How do I go about 'wishing' up some food?

["Just ask for it! Just tell the castle you want it. You can also make it yourself."]
