Um... I'm sorry I haven't really been around lately. I don't know if any of you know Peeta or heard him tell people what's happening but I didn't want you to worry.

[She takes a breath] In my world there's something called The Hunger Games. Every year two kids, a boy and a girl, are picked from each District to go to an arena and fight. [She pauses] There's only one winner... another girl from the Games I was in got here, Clove. She's what we call a Career. They train for years for the Games and volunteer to go.

I don't want her to know I'm here... at least, not yet. I've been staying with friends. I miss all of you, though. How have you been?

[Though she's not about to announce her presence she still misses talking to people. She hesitates a moment before picking up a pencil and writing a question]

What's your favorite flower?

Well, he's absolutely right, if she's as dangerous and pissed off as she sounds. But you don't have to worry about that -- I'm much better at protecting people than she is at killing them, I'm sure. Being cooped up in the castle is no fun at all, especially when the weather's so nice lately!

Hmm, let's see ... [she'll get out a pencil and do a quick, mediocre sketch ofthis] Kinda like that! Though I'm no artist ...

[She looks over the drawing[ It looks pretty! Are there any, here?

I always keep some in my room, and a little patch in the garden outside. There's also some chocolate cosmos, those smell like chocolate.

Um... whenever you're free. I'm not doing anything but sitting around and reading.

[That makes her pause] chocolate?

Now? O-okay! I'm in room [Enter room number of whoever she's staying with at the moment]

I've never heard of a flower that could smell like that before.

[ino]

[a little shuffling while she grabs a few things ...]

Yeah, I hadn't heard of it until I got here, either! Apparently they're usually very rare.

Yeah, there's nothing like that where I'm from. We have some pretty flowers, though. I'm actually named after a flower.

[ino]

Oh! Now that you mention it, I think I have heard of a Rue flower before. It can be used as a medicinal herb, can't it?

[fly_little_bird]

I think so, yeah. The flowers are pretty, too.

[ino]

Well, maybe there'll be some outside somewhere. The flowers seem to change around pretty often ...

[and a knock on yo' door, rue :3]

[Sup, Ino! She opens the door a crack, peeking out to see who it is. When she sees it's her friend she opens it wider, stepping back so she can come in]

Hey! [smiles] Ready to go?

[The other occupant of the room (one Dairine Callahan) lifts her head when she hears the door open. Once she assesses that the new arrival isn’t a threat, she gives Ino a polite nod.]

Heading out, Rue?

[Rue smiles at both of them.]

Dairine, this is my friend Ino. She's going to take me out for a while.

[ino]

[she'll wave at Dairine :) suuuup] Hey.

[Ino, heeeeey, now that's a familiar name.] Oh, hi! I think Mark mentioned you before.

Should I set up a protective spell, or are you guys good? [Not that she thinks Ino can't handle Clove. But better safe than sorry, yes?]

[Geez, all of her friends seem to already know each other in some way. This makes things easy. She looks up at Ino, questioningly]

Um... I know Ino's pretty strong. What do you think?

Mm, Mark and I are friends.

[she'll smile at Rue] You don't have to worry; I've got it covered. Thanks, though.

[Dairine nods. Ino seems capable enough, so she's not going to push it.]

[She smiles at Dairine] bye! I'll be back later.

Come on, Ino! [Excited 12 year old. Wat do?!]

[something awesome, is what do! she'll wave to dairine and shut the door behind them before grinning]

So, how about we take a shortcut outside?

[She tilts her head at her]

Mm-hmm. Here, I'll show you.

[she'll lead her over to the window on the way down the steps of the tower, and peer out momentarily. ehh, only seven floors up, no big deal]

[You're just getting stared at, Ino. What are you doing? She peeks out the window. Heights don't frighten her but this girl can't possibly be thinking...]
