[ GLaDOS is still not very used to eating. Thankfully, her human body is helping with most of the natural processes, but actually taking a bite out of something edible and chewing it was extremely odd.

So, have the former AI leaning against the counter for support as she takes a bite out of an apple that was in the fridge. Her yellow eyes are constantly scanning the room, and as much as she hates to admit it, being out of her room makes her a bit nervous. She's been so used to just staying in the same place for her entire life, that being a defenseless human able to wander around frightened her more than pleased her. The only upside was that becoming allies with humans would probably be easier if she looked like one, too. ]

[ The pony wasn't the thing that had her eyes widening. It was the way food suddenly levitated in front of her, held up in the air by some force. The woman immediately thought of the Portal Gun's ability to pick up things and stared at the pony, wondering if she had such a device on her. ]

[and she easily ignores the human. The veggies fly over to the sink and start rinsing themselves as she checks the cupboards and drawers for a cutting board, a bowl, and knives. Soon enough, the vegetables submit themselves for peeling and/or cutting and start arranging themselves into what is clearly a salad.

She starts cleaning up, and then glances at the human. Yup, still staring. Hmm.]

Dost thou wish to have some?

[ GLaDOS shakes her head at the question, concluding that it was impossible that she had any sort of portal device on her. ]

How did you levitate and manipulate those objects?

[ Was this some miracle of Science? ]

[oh. Right. That.]

'Tis simply magic. Levitation is one of the basic spells every unicorn learns.

Magic. [ she says in disdain. ]

I know there's a scientific explanation behind it.

[there's a bit of an eyeroll. You're in the presence of a magical pony princess whose ethereal mane and tail is waving in a nonexistent wind.

She pauses for a bite, simply lowering her muzzle into the bowl.]

Dost thou have a "scientific explanation" for the castle itself?

There's someone behind all of these kidnappings, hidden somewhere in this place. I'm sure they're the one toying with us.

[ She firmly believes this. The castle itself couldn't be alive, unless it was an AI itself, but she had her doubts. A giant castle couldn't exactly walk and pluck people into it in such a fashion that they just blinked and they were there. ]

[she nods. She doesn't particularly relish idea of a sentient magical building. But:]

If there truly is somepony operating through the castle as some sort of facade, he or she is doing a remarkable job of hiding from us. Some residents have been here for years and have heard nary a peep from him or her.

Perhaps they keep moving around, or there is a secret part of this castle that no one has found.

They could also be one of the current residents, and just playing along to keep hidden.

[ All of the options sounded viable to her, but how to narrow it down to one...? ]

That certainly cannot be discounted. Forsooth, disappearing and reappearing with a new visage would end any hopes of tracking him or her down by the length of his or her stay. Considering the turnover rate here, this is unlikely to be remarked upon.

[hm] There is power in the walls, however. I have not seen its ilk in any of the residents I have encountered.

Yes, it would be quite difficult to ever find the culprit if that were the case.

[ GLaDOS processes this information with a thoughtful frown. Power in the walls? ]

Are you talking about electric power, or some other kind of force? [ Hopefully the pony wouldn't say something about magic again. After all, that hardly made any sense. ]

[and there's something of an impish grin on her face]

'Tis magic.

[ Have a frown. The impish grin makes her feel like she said it on purpose. ]

Oh? And how could you prove that?

I have studied magic long enough to recognize it for what it is.

[of course, levitation didn't persuade GlaDOS, so she's not quite sure what to try next.]

[ She's convinced everything has a scientific explanation. ]

Studied magic? And where would you do that?

[darn. She probably predates any extant schools of magic Equestria has.

...oh well.]

There are various schools of magic throughout Equestria; one of the more famous ones is located in Canterlot.

[ She had never heard of such a place before. ]

The country from whence I came; its citizenry mainly consists of ponies.

Is this country on Earth? [ She highly doubted it. This was getting weirder and weirder. Space-travelling "magical" ponies? The person behind this all was definitely trying to give her a headache thinking of all of this. ]

That is what we call our planet.

[wingshrug] However, many of the residents here also make "Earth" their home. 'Tis a common name, from what I have gathered.

... Are you saying that there is more than one kind of Earth? [ The more she talks to this pony, the more confused she gets.

Then again, that would explain this creature's fixation with magic, and why she had no idea what Equestria was. ]

That is the most probable explanation. There are no humans in our world, and it is certainly not completely populated by humans - as many of them, and their books, attest to.

Of course, the idea that we were brought from many different planets might suffice as an explanation of sorts.

[if not for the overlapping histories of unrelated humans]

Maybe there are multiple universes with all kinds of different Earths. There could be millions, for all we know.

Do a lot of the residents know each other from their homes?

[ Maybe there was a connection between the ones kidnapped. Maybe the enemy wanted them for specific reasons... GLaDOS is trying to find a connection so she knows what this 'kidnapper' is after. ]
