Ponies and Doorways [Backdated to Yesterday]
[Vanyel was outside with Edge and their 'daughter', smiling as the little girl rode around him in a large circle on Yfandes' back, clinging to the more or less useless reigns. But that didn't worry Vanyel at all, since Yfandes would never let harm come to the little girl. She was also not an ordinary horse, so that helped things, and the little girl was strapped into the saddle like a Herald would be if they wanted to sleep while riding. She could no more fall off Yfandes than the moon could fall from the sky.
His little girl - and she was his, he had given up fighting that - squealed in delight when Yfandes pranced and tossed her head, hooves chiming. Of course, that squeal was loud enough for someone from ten miles away to hear it, but it hardly bothered any of the three, Vanyel smiling fondly at the little child having such a good time on what was to be her last day in Paradisa (this year, at least).]
[Closed to Van and Edge and Anyone They Specially Invited]
[Seeing the door made Vanyel's heart lurch a bit. It had only been a week, and perhaps Edgeworth had been more attached to the little girl than he was in the long run of things, but he cared for her. Personally, he was somewhat glad he had not come to cling to the child so, because it made this a little easier... but not much. He was trained enough in saying goodbye thanks to the duties of his job and the sacrifices he made, but again it made only a little difference as he watched Miles hug 'their' little girl.
It made a rather poignant scene, he had to admit, and his heart kept wrenching the longer the hug went. He had learned to cut himself off from the loses, to just... be away from them to ease them, wrap himself in ice. It made it so much easier, though few things hurt as much as losing Tylendel had. This, though... this came quite close. And when the little girl turned and went to hug Vanyel, he almost broke.
He knelt, wrapping her in his arms, looking over her silver head at Edgeworth, asking for the silent strength to get through this and open the door to send her home.]

HORSEBACK RIDING
.5
Papa! Papa! Wide! Wide Com'anyin!

fondlytheir Little One squeal with unmitigated, bilingual delight as she rode, clad in a long, deep-burgundy laced dress, looking no less than a tiny, Victorian noblewoman (with a cravat). It was a beautiful sight all around - Yfandes, the eye-catching white horse, the beautiful little girl sitting atop, along with herbeautifulfather, escorting her.It was almost as wonderful as watching when she laid eyes upon Yfandes for the first time. Never had he seen a child explode with such mirth.
In the near distance, he had his tablet in tow. Raising it in front of his face, he adjusts it to get the best view possible, and tapped lightly upon the 'Record' button.]

He looked over at Edgeworth and waved, dressed himself in white and dark blue as usual, his black and silver hair tugged back into a neat tail tied with a dark blue ribbon. Yfandes turned in the direction Van was waving and neighed, striking a pose just as their daughter did too.]

...I fear we may never get her to part with our Fair Lady.

[He smiles softly at Miles as Yfandes begins to trot again to more squeals of delight, Vanyel again hardly seeming concerned with Yfandes doing as she pleased with the little girl on her back.]

[He cocked his head as he looked at the tablet.] Ah, that is a good one, there...

They do look lovely.

...You're just saying that because she's your daughter.

[He smirked a bit at the other man, looking over briefly to were Yfandes had her head high and tail high and was making a pretty parade of herself for the little girl, who was pretending to be a Princess riding through the streets of her city, waving imperially.]

Ja, Schnuckiputzi?
[He smiled...a very rare smile. An actual smile. He, himself, was not even aware of the extent of the happiness that wells within him since recent at hearing the little girl call him that.]
A-JECKSHUN!!
[She points!! ...With the same impassioned fervour that Edgeworth would have in court. He then laughed heartily...a rarity in of itself.]

I really wish you had not taught her that. It's embarrassing when she points and screams it at people when we're out.

[He shook his head amusedly at the other.]
Go find a mount and we can all go on a ride.

[You know, where the horses are kept? Just over there, where Yfandes staid.]

...Hm. I didn't know that was there.
