first vworp

[a great wind kicks up in the lobby this morning, stirring the curtains and any of the dirt tracked in by daily traffic. there's a familiar whooshing, vworping sound, and the TARDIS materializes squarely in the center of the lobby, just as though someone MEANT to land it there, with a dull, echoing thud.

the door creaks open, and Five strides out, far too occupied in the business of talking over his shoulder and unrolling his hat to notice where he is]

-- and furthermore, Peri, you shouldn't wander off. I know that Sarn was a completely unique situation, but you were supposed to be resting, and I --

[he stops, and looks around finally]

Oh, dear. Best stay in for now, Peri, until I find out where we've --

[he pokes his head back into the TARDIS, a bit surprised at the lack of whinging coming from within] Peri?

[with a great heave of a sigh, he closes the TARDIS door and leans on the exterior] ... It's always the new ones, isn't it.

[Her own smile is a little more mysterious, knowing full well what he is likely picking up and rather curious as to what he will make of her.] You did, yes, though I have also had the honor of meeting your tenth and eleventh selves.

You were among the first to greet me when I first arrived. It seems I may now return the favor.

You were. Fortunately, this place is an exception to that rule as it is to most others.

You once explained it to me thusly: We each are a part of our own tales. The book of Paradisa, if you will, is made up of pages from each of these other tomes, bound together by some unknown force.

So you see, you were far from the only paradox.

[And she smiles in return. She's still not entirely pleased with the situation. Quite aside from the fact that he's been one of the few stable things for her here, she has enough of an ego that being forgotten (at the castle's hands or not) is highly irritating. But she's above expressing such things to him, of course.]

'Astute' is a fitting descriptor, I think. It is one of the qualities that endeared you to me in the beginning.

But you must have many more questions. I will answer them as best I may. [God help her if he starts asking scienc-y stuff.]

[Of course, she's following. She's also laughing a little, but that's neither here nor there.]

I am quite certain. I owe you that much, at least.

I fear not. [She just watches with a slight hint of amusement.] You sense the great power of this place, I am certain. It is obvious some force is at work- how it achieves is goals is sadly less plain.
