[The celebration continues in Paradisa. With so much going on, it's easy to catch the excitement high spirits that seems to be spreading among the townspeople--and even the residents.

In the courtyard, the same bright, inviting lights remain.

The two figures from before have left, replaced by two more. They stand poised, almost as if they are waiting to be approached. Will you?

Just past the gates, there seem to be an endless row of crates filled with various fireworks of all shapes and sizes. It seems Paradisa may be hinting at something.]

[Someone does, indeed, notice this. He slowly makes his way over. He's moving a little stiffly but being up and about is doing him good.]

[He notes the man's arrival, then puts his eyes back on the task of meticulously opening the insides of it]

I have heard it is called a firework.

Aye, it is. What? Y've never heard've one before?

[craggyfaced]

Not in my own world, no.

[shepherdsveritas]

In yer own world, aye? [He shakes his head] I tell ya, I'm still gettin' used to th'idea. 's a bit hard t'believe, innit?

[craggyfaced]

I likely would have a hard time believing it myself, had I not already traveled to another world before arriving here.

[shepherdsveritas]

Y'traveled to another world? [Connor stares at him, unbelieving]

[craggyfaced]

I suppose you think me mad, though it is the truth.

[shepherdsveritas]

I think this whole fuckin' place's mad, if I'm honest. [He chuckles and pulls up a seat]

[craggyfaced]

[He'd maybe offer his hand in greeting, but he's busy carefully using his knife to separate the individual components of the firecracker]

There may be some truth in that.

Be careful, I am not sure how volatile these substances are when unignited. I would not wish for you to come to harm from my curiosity.

Those? Nah, they're not dangerous til y'light 'em. You can touch 'em an' play with 'em all y'want long's y'don't put a flame to 'em.

[He nods, carefully separating out the powders with the knife]

Quite true, but there are other hazards. Vapors...poisons...one can never be sure.

[He smirks, gesturing at the pieces]

Not a chance if they're modern fireworks. They're safe so long's y'don't try t'eat 'em. Though why you would want to is fuckin' beyond me.

[craggyfaced]

I do not yearn for death, so I will heed that advice.

Do you know much about these things?

[shepherdsveritas]

[He grins]

Only what I've figured out meself from doin' jus' what yer doin'. [He shrugs] My brother'n I got a few firecrackers an' I got curious.

[craggyfaced]

[A considering pause] Do you happen to know the name of the compounds that are used in this?

[shepherdsveritas]

A bit, aye. Though it depends on what color this one was meant t'be.

[He reaches out and sifts through the contents, himself.]

There's some sort of fuel, somethin' to produce oxygen, somethin' to make them pretty colors an' somethin' t'hold it all together. This one's prob'ly fueled by aluminum.

[craggyfaced]

[Durge nods, most of what the man is saying holding true to what he knows of alchemy]

Aluminum. I don't think I know what that material is.

[He shrugs] It's a pretty soft metal. They make them disposable pie plates and shite outta it, too.
