I don't understand why this is so difficult. I've been trying to bake a cake all morning. I've been trying, and-

[A shuddery little breath.]

And I - can't - remember!

This is ridiculous. It's a cake, for Landsakes! I've made cakes all my life, this should not be hard! And if that weren't enough, I can't seem to...I - I can't seem to...

[This is a little embarrassing for her to admit.]

I try looking at cake recipes and once I look away...I forget the steps entirely.

...I'm going to try again.

[Peeta's come down to the kitchen to bake something simple, something to relieve stress. He glances over at Jane as he walks in, but he feels he needs to speak up when he hears the entry.]

Um... I know it stinks, but it could be your loss. Mine is that I can't bake bread.

[Jane glances over at Peeta before she returns to glaring at the cake tins.]

I'm not sure I can accept that. There has to be another reason.

I'm glad I found them before I wished for any, though! This has to be the best find of the day!

I've tried that. It didn't quite work out.
