seventh snare - open woods post

[schedules are for people who actually like doing what they're told. at morning reveille, Gale makes his way to the armory, gets a bow and a knife, and makes his way out into the woods.

by mid-morning he's "washed" his bright orange shirt in a mud puddle to make it less obviously visible, and already made a few serviceable snares, setting them low in the undergrowth off the beaten paths. now he's strolling the paths and looking for a proper vantage point. if anyone asks him why he's all the way out here? why, that's easy. he'll just say he's looking for Katniss.]

So, hey, what cabins are you all in? Mine's called Athena... Anyone out there feel like filling me in on what that means?

but yeah, she's just humming to herself and flipping the page ... she doesn't seem to notice he's there, actually ... wonky powers means she can't really sense him coming as well as she normally would]

[yeah he was a little preoccupied with Capitol Paranoia and OMG Crazy Magic Castle Wat Do at the time, there. this, however, is different. and he's surprised she hasn't noticed him by now... but not really caring. he watches her for a minute - just long enough to keep from going into Creeper Territory - and then calls out]

What, didn't you get enough stupid advice from the magazines you read?

Well, I'm not really sure how deep it is, but -- I promise you won't drown while I'm around. [keeping eye contact as she talks, she'll carefully let her hair down from its usual ponytail and run her fingers through it a little, before gathering it back up into a smaller twist on her head.

[he wasn't expecting THAT?! but honestly, it's not as though he cares. mostly because this is him, shirtless, plummeting into water being grappled by a nearly naked girl.

Who's the mean one, again? [ ... but even though she says that, she's laughing about it. and she'll be pushing her bangs -- which have now been plastered oddly all over her face -- out of the way so she can see]

[once he's above water and treading it, wiping at his eyes, he laughs] I think we're even now.
