[Travel through the portal had disoriented her and the dark haired woman faltered in her step as she dashed across the lobby. She came to a stop on the polished floor, looking up and around her.]

Well, this is unexpected.

[Where was she? More importantly where was Adam worth? Helen couldn't place this interior from anywhere she'd been before, it felt...odd. Archaic yet new.

Come out Adam, it doesn't have to be this way. You don't realize what you're doing.

That is what I have been told, and repeatedly reassured that it will come to pass when I return. But...without it...

I am not used to not having a purpose; I find the idea disturbing.

In that we are alike. [She offers a sympathetic smile.] It was quite a blow to me when first I arrived, to be taken from my people in their time of need.

I would offer a suggestion, if I may.

That is precisely how I feel. I should be there, watching out for them, all of them.

[Helen inclined her head, already warming to the elf more than she had anyone in a long while.]

We have yet to find a means of escaping this place on our own terms. Many will no doubt tell you that there is little use in trying. But it is my belief that with a more thorough understanding of this world and its methods, we may yet find a way to best it. In the meantime, those drawn here by the castle's power remain in need of protection from its crueler devices.

Is that not purpose enough? To protect those here as best we may and to seek a means to end our captivity.

[Blazes this woman was wise, now Helen knew how it felt for people to come to her with questions of the soul. She relaxed visibly and nodded.]

Of course, you're right. My mission has always been to protect and encourage harmonious existence between beings of all sort s and their environment; if even remotely possible. There is no reason that work needs to cease here.

Thank you Galadriel, I hope we were good friends before, and I would certainly like us to be so now.

[Not that the advice wasn't a little self-serving, mind you. But one can hardly blame her for nudging a brilliant mind in what she thinks is the most useful direction.]

When last you were here you headed the clinic. I am not certain who has taken up the position. Ordinarily, I would suggest you speak with your colleague, James Watson, but he seems to have taken some time to himself, away from the castle. [And there's just the slightest hint of annoyance there. She's fond enough of him to worry and she doesn't think gallivanting off by himself was the brightest thing in the world.]

If you wish to learn more of the mysteries of this place, I would point you to Raine Sage, a very bright and determined young woman who is heavily involved in the attempts to understand our surroundings. And of course, I would also be glad to tell you what I have learned in my time here.

I would dearly love to know more, but perhaps after I've acclimatized a bit. Unless there is anything I should be aware of that could be considered dangerous or to be wary of?

I know I need not caution you of the people here. You are more than accustomed to dealing with quite a large variety of beings. But I will warn you that this place is wont to cause difficulties of it's own.
