It's been more than long enough, and I've installed a precation or two on Maine's armor in case things go wrong. I'm giving him the armor back as he has proven to my satisfaction that we aren't dealing with the Meta.

Armor lock being ready to activate on command doesn't hurt either. The Brute Shot stays on lockdown though. Come to me if you feel you need the codes and we can talk. And if you know any outsiders that should have this, let me know. Not spreading this widely, as I'd prefer preventing abuse.

Maine, stop by my rooms when you are ready.

Agent Maine is getting his armor returned, with certain safeguards in place. It's been long enough, he has proven to my satisfaction that the Meta has officially left the castle.

Any objections, I'll hear them out, but I doubt they'll change a thing.

Only UNSC personnel should have the armor lock codes; there should be enough of us spread out that if something happens, we can get there quickly. Thought we should give a warning about his strength before figuring any of us are liable to do serious damage if we go on a loss like that. Any of us could become a version of the Meta.

We need a contingency plan should one of us need it.

We aren't numerous enough to justify that. The codes will only activate it on his armor, so it will not be a danger to the rest of us... Perhaps we can discuss this with some of those connected to the Peace Patrol.

I think between us, we can come up with criteria to keep the codes from being abused.

I know Agent Maine as he once was and I knew him as the Meta.

He's not the same person. Down to being missing injuries he was known to have by the time period I came from. This is Maine from before he took the throat injury that lead to him losing the ability to speak.

He doesn't even know what his future is going to bring. Just like Carolina, he's still in the dark... Promised York I wouldn't tell her, and I'm holding to that. Still not sure how to tell him.

Keeping his armor is punishing him for a crime he didn't commit. Let Maine stand or fall on his own merits, not on those of that shattered monster that was left after the AIs finished with him that is his future.
