Maybe it's because I've never had a significant other, but I honestly do not see the point in Valentine's Day. And people have told me in the future it is far more commercialized. If you truly care about someone, shouldn't you show this at every opportunity and not just one day a year?

I understand everyone likes to feel appreciated, but perhaps I'm too logical in this. I think I would rather something personal. But then I've also never been on a date. I have yet to even consider the psychological aspect of an intimate relationship like that.

Perhaps I shall look into that as well. [Because she needs a break between reading biochem technology books and learning computer code.]

Maybe so, but you're not used to the kinds of moves and tricks slimy guys will be willing to pull just to get you into bed. Even smart girls fall for that crap if they don't know what to look for.

I would resort to violence last. But there really is nothing to worry in that regard. While I could take care of myself if someone were to disrespect me in that way, I have several male friends who would probably inflict a fair amount of damage on their body. One being a demigod and another a soldier.
