001 :: Action/Dictated :: Lobby
[This... was not where he expected to be. That's apparent by the look on his face, which is both confused and cautious. He reaches for something at his side, only to find it missing and a strange book tucked into his hakama-himo where it should have been.
This appears to anger him slightly. He looks suspiciously at his surroundings and whispers to no one in particular.]
...Has he managed to fool us once again?
[Finding no answer or immediate danger in his surroundings, he flips open the book, looking for clues.]
What is this?
This appears to anger him slightly. He looks suspiciously at his surroundings and whispers to no one in particular.]
...Has he managed to fool us once again?
[Finding no answer or immediate danger in his surroundings, he flips open the book, looking for clues.]
What is this?

action;
I see. Please forgive me if I was unkind, but hearing my name in this unfamiliar place was startling.
[He makes his way into the public kitchen, and tries to find things to make tea, but it's obvious that he doesn't know his way around.]
You'll still tell me how you know me, won't you?
action;
...It's something of a tale that requires a little bit of suspended disbelief, Jy-- ah. Ukitake. [he probably wouldn't appreciate the informality, would he? he always had been very particular about those kinds of things.]
As long as you can bear with me, I'll explain everything.
action;
[He appreciates the shift in familiarity. He had his pride, after all. He returns the respect by calling the man his proper title.]
I appear to have the time, unfortunately, Father.
action;
This castle is called Paradisa -- and it exists outside of time and space like you and I know it. A bit like Sereitei is separate but connected to the living world, without the humans being aware of its existence? This world exists separate of ours, but we seem connected in some way.
[he turns the tap on to fill the kettle for him.]
It might be hard to swallow, but... as I said, even time isn't respected like we're used to back in our respective worlds. So... while we're here, time may feel like it's moving normally. Yet when we're sent back... it's like having blinked, and you don't remember a thing.
action; (taking it ONE step slower, lol sorry about the delete)
...Are you saying you know me because I have been here before?
action; haha it's okay!
You and I were-- friends, here... For a long time!
I met you shortly after you first arrived in Paradisa, and we had tea together. I guess you could call it a common interest? [h-haha, a sheepish chuckle. this is very strange... even if it's something he's had to do before.] There's nothing quite like your tea, Ukitake.
action; out of RP practice omg :P
I see... I'm sorry I don't remember. It must be difficult for you.
action; asldkjglsdg /wipes the rust off
Don't worry...! This kind of thing happens around here, from time to time. It's one of the hazards of living in this place, s-so... don't feel bad at all!
[it wasn't your fault-- isn't. and won't ever be! it's fine, right? yes... it's fine! please don't worry D:]
action;
[he goes back to looking for the tea, and gives Abel a small smile to reassure him that everything was as alright as it could be.]
...I do have a question, since you seem to know so much about me.
action;
Mm...?
action;
[It was so much more than a sword, but he wasn't sure how much his other self had revealed.]
...When you knew me before, was it also missing?
action;
Abel looks surprised -- and grave. he understands how important the sword is... even met the twins on a loss ;; babbies...]
...No. It was here with you, but--
[that's right. Abel straightens a bit.]
Please don't panic. It's safe -- but one of the unfortunate tolls for coming to this place is that something precious to you is taken on entry. Like a... fee. A price. Last time, it was memories... but this time, it looks like it was Sougyo no Kotowari. It'll be with you as soon as you leave where it belongs.
action; (sorry had a phonecall)
...I see.
[That seems to be all he can say on the matter, and he turns back to the box of tea leaves he'd found, and starts to prepare two cups.]
action; no problem :)
action; he's all like... want tea nao ugh. D:
[Despite the severity of the loss, it wouldn't be enough to keep him from enjoying a bit of tea. It was relaxing, and right now he could certainly use a moment to slow down. He finishes making the green tea, and gestures for Abel to take one.]
Still... lets sit for a while. Perhaps we can relax for a moment or two.
action; who would blame him man. GEEZ MAGIC CASTLES. such jerks.
...
he should at least answer his questions, get him situated... he owed him much more than that, even if the Shinigami couldn't recall the past as Abel did. giving a little smile, he nods and reaches for the other cup.]
Now those are sentiments I can get behind.
action;
Someone else mentioned something about my own room. Do they take horribly long to find?
action;
Ah-- no, not at all! They have names on the doors... so, it shouldn't be hard to locate.
There's also a few handy little things I can clue you in on to make life easier here. Like, for example... you can wish up things like, say -- new clothing, or food...? I suppose that kind of thing goes along with the 'fairy tale castle', don't you think?
action;
[It seemed a bit unnatural, and hard to believe. He wasn't sure it would be something he'd do often.]
That really is strange. Can this happen anywhere in the castle?
[He takes a tentative sip of tea to check if it had cooled enough, and when he realized that it had, he took another. He seemed a little more relaxed now.]
action;
Mm, anywhere at all! But it won't work once you go outside, or say, in the town. [he gestures to the lobby, where the large doors would lead out toward the castle-town below.]
action;
So you're saying there is more than just the castle? Let me guess - we can leave the castle but not the 'world' we are in now?
action;
he missed you ;(]
...Sharp as ever. This is something of a rather elaborate prison. Nicely furnished, too! But a prison, none-the-less.
[and he should warn him about... losses, and...]
...I have a lot to tell you, but... I don't want to overwhelm you.
action;
[He rubs his temple. He was already starting to get a headache from the situation.]
...If it can wait, perhaps it's best we discuss it at another time, or I might not remember it all! Is there anything I'll need to know for tonight?
action;
N-- no, no. Once you find your room, you should be mostly left to your own devices around here.
action; (lol it's just late here...)
[He takes a few more sips of tea.]
We should keep in touch. Can I write to you with this?
[He holds the book up for a moment.]
