19th Gate [action + dictation]

[Vanyel is... well, floored to say the least by all this. His world had fairs, but there was nothing like this. The closest they came to a 'ride' was pony or hay rides for the children, and maybe a may pole or two, but nothing like this. Glittering ferris wheels, high-speed tilt-a-whirls, screaming roller coasters, foods that had no right existing, games that made no sense and he was sure were rigged,

It was basically one big giant jumble in his head and he is currently sitting on a bench, peering up at the questionable security of the ferris wheel and cringing at the screams from the near roller coasters and swings. Why? Why would you go on that thing in purpose? Thankfully, Yfandes was staying away, more than happy to let him deal with it up close as she watched from afar.

Of course, if there was one thing he had to say, the invention of this pop corn was quite delicious and wonderfully salty. He was currently licking his fingers clean of the salt and butter, glaring at the ferris wheel.

No, no he was not getting on that or anything else. No.]

Is this how all fairs are in the more advanced worlds? Why would you get on anything called a 'Screamer' of any sort?

[ooc:
talk back to him through the journals or force him onto a ride ~ Have fun! And, no, he is not a peacock, it just the only icon with the appropriate expression, lol]

[And that first line was an opening for something that had been hovering at the back of his mind since Felix had mentioned it. He tried to make the comment as off-hand sounding as possible]

Mm. Felix did say you had tried to get home with your power.

[And now, time to follow that up with a distraction so Van doesn't think too deeply about it]

Look, you can see the castle roof already.

You'll have to give me the details sometime.

[Both because he's curious and because he told Felix he'd try and find out just how risky Vanyel was being. For now though, he's looking out the window too, smiling]

It's not quite the same as flying, but it's breath-taking, isn't it.

I know. There's a reason I gave both my Guardians wings - it would be a shame to miss out on this.

[Clow is lost for a moment - to the future, to a brief flash of something that has not yet happened - a young girl who he knows to be the inheritor of his power and legacy, sitting in a ferris wheel car not unlike the one he's in right now. She's blushing, happy but shy, and speaking to... someone it seems like, though the words and person are obscured from his vision. It only lasts a moment, and he blinks, falling out of the trance. Belatedly, the part of his mind that wasn't focusing on the vision reminds him that Vanyel just said something he didn't catch.]

Ah - sorry, what was that?
legacydeck: (sorry)

[personal profile] legacydeck 2012-09-05 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Clow blinks, for once taken aback by someone else. Most of the mages he knows don't believe in any form of true divination or precognition, much less recognize it's effects in others.]

You're familiar with precognition?

[and yep, he sounds genuinely surprised]
legacydeck: (sorry)

It must be more common in your world than mine - many mages don't even believe it exists, and for most that do, they can only see the shape of the future, rather than specifics. I have the... somewhat dubious 'gift' of being able to see it in perfect clarity, particularly when it comes to any of my magical legacies or blood-relatives. I have some measure of control over how it hits me, but I don't have the power to turn it off completely, and sometimes it catches me off-guard.

[He conjures up another small illusion in midair of the girl, who clearly can't be more than twelve]

I saw her, talking to someone else on a different ferris wheel. Her name is Sakura - she'll inherit my power and all of my creations some day.

[Clow nods, letting the small illusion fade]

That's how it is for most of the other mages I know who forsee things - even for those who have the power to actively seek answers. I'm... exceptional in more ways than one, it would seem.

[There's a sort of slightly wry humor in his voice]

More power than the universe should probably ever grant one person, the obstinacy to stand up to the entire Li clan, synthesizing a new school of magic...

[He's grinning as he lists them off, though]

I don't know, I think you're probably better-natured than me.
legacydeck: (^___^)

[personal profile] legacydeck 2012-09-10 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
The two aren't one and the same, you know~
legacydeck: (sorry)

[And there's a slightly more knowing, wry smile at that]

From what you've told me, you're very dedicated to your country and it's people. That sort of loyalty is admirable - but one I'm afraid I'm missing.

And this is what I meant about 'better-natured'. If it hasn't come to me yet in life, I don't think it will.
