[As much as Spike whines about people coming into the library and messing up his SYSTEM, now so many are out of the castle and NOT doing that, he's bored. It's taken him half the time to organise the sections it usually does, so he's been left with a hole in his schedule.

Such a thing would never happen in Ponyville. Twilight's schedules (and by proxy: his) were filled to to point where to be able to do some tasks required breaking the laws of time and space. Holes in the schedule were rarer than a tap-dancing oyster in a kangaroo suit.

And so, Spike has taken to siding down the banisters of the big winding staircase to see how far he can fly before inevitably meeting the floor with a THUD. After a few goes, even THIS gets boring. Still flopped on the floor, he reaches for his journal and flips it open]

Does anypony want to do something? Anything?

[He was even starting to miss Arya. That couldn't be a good thing]

[Have a redhead sliding head first down the banisters after you, Spike. She does a flip off the end and lands on the floor in a heap next to him.]

[He yelps, jumping out of the way, before looking back at the stairs, then back at her]

...Wow, how'd you even do that?

[She sits up abruptly, grinning at him]

Edward can do lots of stuff!

So you're like...an acrobat?

I guess, but Twilight's the big reader. I just keep the place tidy.

Big time. The castle is so quiet.

You didn't want to go on the expedition with everyone else?

Nah, I've got Twilight to take care of, she'd go into meltdown if I wasn't here.
