Dictated; Open to Action for Kitchen

[modernholmes]

 [Today Conan is in the kitchen.  He's at the table, slightly smug at his victory over acquiring a full mug of black coffee with no adults in the room to object.  As he waits for it to cool slightly he opens his journal and begins to dictate out a few messages.]

Hey, do you still want to learn all about Holmes?  The real Holmes, I mean.  I'm going to be in the library later today if you want to do some reading.

Has anyone heard of any interesting mysteries?  I've been hearing about some place  called Insolitus I want to check out. 

Have you gotten over your tantrum yet?.

There have been some new developments.  We need to talk.
Ne, ne!  I've been wondering something.  What kinds of detectives do you have at home?  It would be interesting to compare, don't you think?

[And with his messages taken care of Conan goes to take his first sip of coffee.  And immediately spits it out in disgust.  The expression of distaste on his face only grows as he identifies exactly what his coffee had tasted like.]

[He isn't paying attention to the fact that this conversation was already far past what a first grader would be capable of.]

[Sort of, but not really, and the Fuhrer is really a homunculus. IT'S REALLY COMPLICATED.]

Um... but we don't have any detectives.

[modernholmes]

You don't? But who finds the truth?

[snacklist]

The military... or alchemists.

[modernholmes]

How? [Conan couldn't even conceive of a world without detectives. Military or alchemists? If he substituted chemist for his understanding of alchemists, neither of those were dedicated solely to investigating crimes. How many criminals had escaped because of poor investigative technique?]

[He doesn't understand what Conan is having trouble with...]

They just do.

How do they solve crimes, I mean. What methods do they use?

I'm not involved in solving crimes, I don't know exactly.
