[Well, residents. It is time for that question that seems to pop up at least once a month or at least several times a year when a holiday comes around. You all know that question. The question from the poor souls who have no idea what it is all the fuss is about, and not sure they want to know. But being as they don't want to be caught unawares, they ask anyways.]

I have been hearing chatter about this and have read some of it in some quite old entries in the journal, but... What, precisely, is Valentine's Day?

No. A Blight is when Darkspawn rise from the ground and attempt to take over the land, pillaging and destroying all in their path, led my an archdemon.

Ah, not like the blights I had thought. It sounds something like Karse, except they do not come from the earth, though the things they summon might.

Do they ravage the land also? The Blights are...quite an issue for us.

They make attempts, and I and others do our best to see that they do not make to great an encroachment into Valdemar.

Yes. Often we have to try to protect the large cities. Lothering fell in the Blight however, it was...a heavy blow.

I am sorry. I still like to maintain the belief that somehow there will be a turning of the tide.

The tide did turn, eventually. But having another war to follow it...it gives me concern.

Stressing the people, the resources, the land far to much.... I will ask for help for your world in my prayers.

I do not know how much prayer will help, but thank you, regardless.

Sometimes it work and sometimes it does not. Honestly, before coming here, I was always a little afraid to pray.

A friend of mine is convinced of the good it will do. I am unsure, myself.
