[Thanks to Larry not knowing how to operate a stepladder correctly, Phoenix is currently laid up in bed, blue cast on his right leg, and an endless stream of whining ever at the ready.

He's also incredibly bored. Painting and drawing got old long ago, and he can't seem to stay focused on anything he tries to read. Never mind that he could probably pretty easily get out of bed and actually do something despite his (not very severely) broken leg...

He whines, over-dramatic, into the journal.]

Don't trust Larry Butz, everybody... he'll just break your bones and make you miserable...

[With a bit of apprehension, he adds a filter.]

[Good lord but he feels ridiculous even asking this of a teenager he's only just recently met.]

What do you want to know? It was all for a diversion. Merely intended for stress-relief. I hardly enjoyed it and all in all, it was a massive waste of precious time.

[Because he really doesn't think he's got it in himself to be dominant in that situation. Not right now, anyway.]

What I mean to say is that I probably would have been a bit more assertive if I were actually...a bit more interested.

[Phoenix, being the worrywart that he is, can't help but imagine Edgeworth just lying there and taking it simply out of... loneliness, or whatever his reason was for seeking out those other men.

Not the most pleasant mental image; he tries to push it away.]

[All joking aside, he'd really like to know what was meant by that statement.]

It was a joke, Phoenix. Don't worry yourself.

Each one of those...[What on Earth would he call them? They were not relationships. He pauses. The only word he can think to use is one he finds quite distasteful...]..."flings," I'd...suppose you would say, occurred during what I had deemed to be incredibly low points in my life. One of which was after I had... "chosen death," and had gone abroad.

...I can't really stand the thought of you having sex with a bunch of strangers out of depression. That isn't helping at all.

That is not exactly the case, either, Phoenix. They were not entirely "strangers." And certainly not a "bunch."

It's still sleeping around because you were unhappy, and I still don't like it. I wish I could go back and rescue you.

They were learning experiences, and those sorts of experiences I see no point in regretting.
