 Wow, I guess I had some really strange dreams while everyone was asleep.  It's interesting what kinds of things the mind comes up with, isn't it?

I'd say so, yes. Little bit of honesty never hurt.

I disagree. In certain situations honesty can hurt a great deal.

I would rather not speak of it at all. [His tone is annoyed. Knowing Sherlock, he knew there was no chance of it being left at that.]

But if you insist on interfering, I would prefer that it be in person.

[He'd just finished sweeping it for security. Who's paranoid?]

[The journal snaps shut.

Luckily, guess who's back to living right across the hall? Knock knock.]

[This was a drawback of living so close to one another. Conan could have really used some time to invent an explanation. He grimaces and reluctantly opens the door.]

[There's a polite, fake smile on his face when Conan opens the door.

He steps in without waiting for an invitation, and immediately casts his eyes around.]

Tea?

Kitchen. [Conan's response is more than a little irritable. Don't expect him to make any tea. He refused to hang from the cupboards for Sherlock's entertainment.]

[Sherlock doesn't seem to mind. He strides into the kitchen, hands in his pockets.

He turns the kettle on, sifts through the cabinets for a tea up to his standards.

Idly, while he inspects a box:]

So, which would you prefer I use?

[Deliberately vague, because he's an asshole.]

It doesn't matter. [He rarely made tea for himself. Mostly because he was terrible at it.]

[He doesn't look over his shoulder.]

Not talking about the tea.

[He seems to settle on one, taking the box down and flipping it open.]

[Conan had known what he'd meant, but still harbored some hope he could get out of this by avoiding the question A very, very small hope, he knew.]

What is it you want to know?

[Enough of the stepping around each other.]

[He clucks his tongue and turns to lean against the counter while he waits.]

Well, have to admit I'm intensely interested in the chemistry involved. But something tells me you're still working on that yourself.

[Conan crosses his arms and leans up against the doorframe as he responds to that sourly.]

If I knew the cure, I would hardly choose to spend all the my time like this.

Well, I'm admittedly less interested in the cure than the cause.

It's a dangerous topic to be curious about.

[Sherlock just scoffs.]

I've weathered worse.

Anyone who knows anything about this will be at risk if certain people are ever brought here by the castle. They kill anyone who knows even the slightest hint of their existence. Not just them, but any family or acquaintances that might have heard anything.

[But knowing Sherlock, Conan didn't really think that he would be willing to take the safe way out.]
