[Dictated. He sounds tense.]

Two days ago, a caravan went exploring in the woods and came across a well. There was an ugly cat in it, and I should have shot the damn thing before it escaped.

And yet now we have people suffering unspeakable deformities at the hands of a demon cat.

I am a banker, not a damn exorcist. What do people intend to do about this?

Do you think the well will hold it?

[it would depend on the well. Granted, Sam hasn't actually seen the well.]

Like it's warded somehow?
hellshaped: (i think those are nazis in there)

It held it in the first place. [Hellboy is generally frustrated by people who open things that let demons out. It's a pet peeve.] To be safe, wrap it in silver and iron.

I think I have a charm somewhere that might help, too.

[Sam hears you, man. They tend to leave a mess.

... Never mind the fact that he let quite a big thing out himself once.]

Silver and iron doesn't really work where I'm from. Silver works on shifters and iron for spirits, but demons mean rock salt, holy water and Devil's traps.

It's probably better to cover our bases.

[and in the event that it's none of the above? Well at least they tried.]

Salt's not a bad idea. Holy water's pretty hit-or-miss in my experience, but ... [Yep. What if they just shoved every known ward and deterrent at the thing? Something has to stick.]

Trouble is finding the thing.
imnot_likeyou: (and that's our tale)

I think if we could figure out why it's doing this, maybe we'll be able to sort out what or who it'll hit next. Which means talking to the victims.

[there's the slight drum of his fingers against the journal before he speaks again.]

Have they been taking everyone to the clinic?
hellshaped: (lol journal)

There's not always a reason for this sort of thing. Sometimes it just happens because the thing is evil or malicious. Who knows.

[As for the victims, he doesn't know, so he is gonna wait to see if anyone else has an answer for that.]

[there's a pause before same shakes his head.]

Even if it's for a stupid reason, there's always one.
hellshaped: (check out that negative space)

[personal profile] hellshaped 2012-10-22 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
I guess so. It's a lot easier to just punch something until it stops than it is to worry about reasons, though.

True. But sometimes punching it doesn't work and you have to get creative.

That's where the charms come in. I'm pretty sure I have a Cornelius Agrippa charm against demonic animals somewhere ... I haven't really checked my pockets in years.

[Huh.]

Never heard of it.
hellshaped: (oddest jobs)

[personal profile] hellshaped 2012-10-26 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
Cornelius Agrippa? He was an occultist during the Renaissance. The charm is kind of on loan from the Vatican. [It has been for the past sixty years. :T Hellboy just forgot to give it back...]

Anyway, that's not important. It's been pretty effective against this sort of thing in the past.

[Sam wishes he was Bobby sometimes. Bobby would have known that.

He wishes Bobby was here.

And we break in Sam's emo montage to get him ... back on track with the conversation.]

Good to know.
hellshaped: (ROLL OUT)

[Hellboy knows all about emo montages, let me tell you....]

Guess we'll just have to see if it works out.

Yeah, guess so.

I'll let you know if I find anything in the library.
hellshaped: (i dream like crazy)

[personal profile] hellshaped 2012-10-29 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh... good. He didn't want to do any research anyway. Books are for losers!]

Okay. Good luck.
