Oh. Yes, I meant x-gene mutations, rather than more common natural variation. Though I suppose not everyone would call it an 'x-gene'....

What kind of mutant? [Because now he's curious anyway, even if it's probably not an x-gene]

Albino. 'X-gene' is completely new, so very likely far from the sort you seek.

Powers that defy the laws of nature as we know them, usually. Psychic abilities, flying, control over an element... Jaimie creates duplicates of himself on physical impact. My own x-gene powers are rather modest in comparison.

Though now that I think about it, there are also things like the Weapon X project, or sorcerers. I am not sure if the latter are 'mutants' - I've never had a chance to ask.

Ah. Own abilities do not defy rules of nature that am most familiar with. [ He just bends them a little. ]

However to others may seem that way. If definition is similar for both - sorcerer, one who manipulates what is referred to as magic - then am similar to that.

Ah, I see! And yes, sorcerers use magic, though as I said, I don't know much of the specifics. They tend to be a little secretive.

Unsurprising. Even when it is a thing to be learned, new things learned or created tend to be hoarded and not shared until creator is certain they alone will gain credit. ... Or created and forgotten to share.

Hmm. I suppose I did not consider that - I'm mostly used to dealing with mutants, and not other types of powers.

To be honest, I never really noticed that much of a difference between someone who can fly and has super strength and someone who can do something neat because of... X-genetics or whatever. [It's been a long time since Julian, Laura, Josh, and the others were around.]

It is something of a technicality. And I myself am both, I suppose, though mostly because I'm not human.

My people have no name of their own - we were genetically engineered to be a slave race. I believe we may have some genetic similarities to humans, as well as the more obvious physical similarities - I never had a chance to ask Dr. McCoy. We do have an x-gene, or something similar - some of us bear abilities beyond the genetic enhancements bred into us for the arenas.

I haven't got any idea if I'm technically a 'mutation' or anything like that, but I am considered a 'super human.' Never liked that term, but what can you do.
