There will be no plot NPCs in this post (other than Ino, I guess, but she's not really an NPC), but feel free to NPC any town people you want/need, civilian or ninja. ]

[It's funny how easy it is to blend into the streets without raising any suspicion when Spike has no idea where he is or what direction he's going in. Usually he could figure out the theme the castle was going for without too much difficulty, but a few things were throwing him off of this one. (Maybe it's all the fishnet that detracts from the wholesome village-feel.) Then again, he also isn't trying very hard to get to the bottom of it.

Spike already formed a simple plan that he had come up with the last time he wound up somewhere unfamiliar: walk around until he finds food, then take a nap until it's over. Sometimes it takes days of repetition, but it seems to produce the best results in avoiding whatever else is coming their way. -- He's right in the middle of that plan when he sees something that threatens to throw the whole thing off.

Which is what leads to Spike ducking into the nearest building, without a second glance to what it is. Only once the door is shut behind him.

...Flowers. Why is it always flowers?]

[ It would be a nice attempt, Spike, if you didn't keep forgetting who you're dealing with! And really, Joshua doesn't have any reason to bug him right now except for the obvious factor that Spike doesn't want to be bothered.

So of course Joshua must go visit, especially since it looks like he went into a flower shop. It seems like it should be a kodak moment, and it most definitely is when the teenager pokes his head in to glance around. ]

Of all the places...

[and she's just lifting an eyebrow when the two of them walk together. she's got her chin in her palm, looking at them with some measure of curiosity]

I didn't know you two were friends. [JOKING ...]

[gottaknockhard]

[Spike doesn't have the time to so much as stand behind a plant when Joshua walks in. Of course, he keeps his glance towards him casual, like he isn't cursing his luck that his quick thinking didn't get him further.

And then there's Ino. ... No use for it now.]

I can't think of another explanation.

[ofhope]

[ He looks at Ino, smiling at her quizzically at first before recognition settles in. The puppy's woman...

Oh ow, Spike, you hurted his feelings. Just for that he's moving right next to him and slapping him on the back. Hard. ]

We're partners!

[ino]

[she kind of lifts an eyebrow at spike. because she kind of doubts he would team up with joshua, lmao ...]

And you're both looking for flowers?

[gottaknockhard]

[That friendly slap almost knocks Spike over, but he manages to recover his footing before he falls. Other than the look he gives him, he doesn't deny anything. Easiest way to deal with Joshua is to not react until he gets bored and wanders off.]

Just browsing.

[ofhope]

[ Well, he'll at least wander a couple feet away. Not really far enough for Spike to escape his line of sight, though. But even Joshua likes flowers... There are a lot in here he hasn't seen before. ]

If you're going to browse, then you should buy. [ Or take. ]

[ino]

Right ...

[she watches the two of them wander around and look]

Do you guys even have any money?

[Spike tries his damnedest to look halfway interested in flowers instead of making it ridiculously obvious that he walked in to avoid exactly what's going on right now. He only raises his head at Ino's question.]

You work here? [-- If he's ignoring anyone, it's got to be because of how easily he gets distracted.]

[ofhope]

[ Keeping his mouth shut for now because he's actually going around and gathering up random flowers for a bouquet. He'll worry about money after the fact. ]

[ino]

[she gives the flowers joshua's picking a bit of a dirty look. THOSE DON'T GO TOGETHER, JOSHUA. but she'll answer spike:]

This is my family's flower shop. This village is where I lived, before I came to Paradisa.

[gottaknockhard]

[He keeps Joshua in the corner of his eye, even as he successfully changed the subject. Someone smart would have used the opportunity to slip away, but he has his own reasons for lingering.]

So you're the one to blame.

[ofhope]

[ That also gets his attention, and he looks over. ]

Your world...? So they all fight like you, or are most people here civilians?

[ino]

[she just gives Spike a bit of a flat look. it's not like she told it to go here!]

There are some civilians here, but it's primarily ninja that live in this village.

[Ninja... flower shop. Who knew those things would go together?]

That would have been my first guess.

Strange. I've never seen a town full of warriors before.

[ Now he wants to fight all of them. Yep he is totally thinking of ways to make that happen. ]
