[Dairine is walking over in earnest now. Putting a supportive hand on his shoulder, she crouches down to Barton's level.]

You shouldn't blame yourself either.

[And he doesn't have an excuse of being possessed this time.]

[She shakes her head.]

Just because you remember doesn't mean you were in control of your actions. That virus seriously messed with your head. What you did was not your fault.

[A snort. Yet another thing taking advantage of his potential.]

So, what now? You gonna let me out, or do we have to wait for Steve?

Yeah, that cold that swept through right before Thanksgiving? Except it was actually a Seven Deadly Sins virus. Everyone who caught the virus lost their reason and started acting like one of the sins.

[At the mention of Steve, Dairine freezes. Oh right. Steve. Hahaha GUESS WHO DIDN'T TELL STEVE WHAT SHE WAS DOING. Oh man, she's gonna get it.

She recovers quickly though and pulls out her journal.]

I'll call him. Leaving an empty cell for him to find would cause a panic.

Great. Infect the guy with the bow with a rage virus. The castle knows how to pick its targets...

[He stands, stretching.]

Good idea. I don't want people dragging me back in here.

[Dairine shakes her head.] The virus didn't come from the castle. Or at least, not this castle.

Right. [Taking out a pen, she writes down a filter for Steve.]

Hey Steve. Come to the prison when you've got a minute. Barton is ready to go.

[He sighs, rubbing his eyes.]

My head hurts.

[Except she will totally worry about it. Silently. Undetected.]

When Steve brought you here. He had to knock you out first, otherwise you wouldn't cooperate.

[Dairine raises her hands in a "spare-me" gesture.]

[This would be about the time both of them will notice someone quickly making their way. Yes, Steve ran all the way here. He's looking pretty surprised to see Dairine in there with Clint. Hey, at least he looks sane enough.]

How did you get in there? [He'll let you two out in a minute.]

[Dairine turns towards the door with a bright grin, one that is definitely not fake or hiding her nerves thankyouverymuch, and waves.]

Steve! Oh, you know, things happened. Thanks for coming so quickly. [Avoiding the question tralalaaa~]

Magic, cap.

[And that should answer everything. Clint stands, backing off from the door. He's not going to be antagonistic in this.

...He looks exhausted.]

You used magic to break into his cell. [Disapproval is pretty heavy in his voice. He can see that nothing bad is happening here though despite all odds. The fact Clint didn't immediately take Dairine hostage in order to get out is telling enough that the worst is probably over. Steve also doubts the girl is infected too since she doesn't seem sick or crazy. He'll open up the cell now.]

We're going to have a long talk about that later. Both of you, out.

[BARTON! Blow her cover why don't ya?! Dairine averts her eyes, scowling.] How else was I supposed to cure him?

[Gaaah, Steve is gonna let her have it. Damnnit, damnnit, damnnit! Why does she always get in the worst trouble when she tries to help others?! It's not fair! Once Steve opens the cell, Dairine sulks out. She'll go right passed them unless someone stops her.]

[Putting his hands on his head to walk out, just so there's no way he can be fooling them, he pauses before he leaves the cell.]

I know I'm the last person to be asking favours, but don't be too hard on her, captain, she did it to cure me.

[And then he's just going to keep walking, hands on his head.]

[Steve won't say anything to Clint in return though he'll keep it in mind when he goes after Dairine... like now.] Wait up a minute.
