[It's been a rough month for South, between the cat incident, an intense conversation with Carolina, and then everyone around her going insane and Washington threatening to kill her, slowly and painfully, because of the virus.]

[Suffice it to say, she sounds a bit subdued when she cracks the journal open.]

So, I think I've had enough of this place for one month. I'm going to head out to one of the outposts, haven't decided which, just ... just need to get away for a while.

Catch me if you need me today, I'll be heading out in a couple hours. Otherwise, use the journal. No guarantees I'll respond.

Evangeline McDowell. Says she's a ruthless vampire supervillain, but she sure looks and acts like a thirteen-year-old girl who likes cake and frilly dresses. Old friend of mine.

Best meaning clean, well-maintained, and repaired from the explosive damage from about a year ago when the assholes decided to blow it up.

[By now, Carolina's used to people needing breaks from the castle. It still sucks that it's one of her team moving out of reach, but understandable.]

Yeah. There are a few outposts just outside the botder of the powered zone. The castle can't pull its shit there, so it's like a little vacation from magical bullshit land here.

Yeah. Well, I mean, nothing works outisde the powered zone, so I won't have a microwave or my armor,but at least I won't have to worry about people freaking out for no good reason.

Yeah, out where shit doesn't work. But the castle can't get me there, either, so at this point I'm willing to rough it for some peace of mind.

If by 'prepared' you mean a couple bottles of hard liquor and an assortment of six-packs, then we agree. I did have to pack less underwear, but I think I'll manage.
