[Caterina has been using this time to read up on everything she missed while in Paris. Needless to say that came to an abrupt end recently. While she laments losing the chance to read the words of the people she desperately misses, it is also for the best. She needs to move on. It does not take her long to start working out the necessary steps to do so.]

[After that filter Caterina is exiting her room. She has her coat with her in hand since putting it on is a lost cause for her. Whoever she runs into on the way outside will no doubt get suckered into helping her.]

[Caterina notices the glance in her direction. She smiles. She rarely forgets a face and his was not the exception.]

[Ah, whoops, got caught staring at someone without announcing himself. Rude much? He'll close the distance between them, walking over, then bowing once both as a greeting and an apology.]

Miss Caterina, it's nice to see you again.

I...wasn't aware you were a resident here too.

It's nice to see you again too, Ryotaro. I'm afraid I wasn't a resident at the time we met.

[He'd ask about the whole paris thing, but he's too polite to say anything. If she explains, she does, if she doesn't, he won't mind.]

That's correct. [Caterina says evenly.] This is my second time here.

Hm? That...does that normally happen? I heard if you return you retain none of your previous memories.

It was that way. I am one of the first who were made exception to that rule.

[He'll contemplate that for a second, before smiling cheerfully.]

It must be nice though! Not...returning I mean, but, at least you remember your friends.

I think it would hurt if a friend returned and they didn't...remember.

That is why I am happy for it. I would hate to return without any memories. It would make things very difficult for them.

[She does not appear happy but, the sentiment is there.]

Eheh...it's nice to hear. A lot of people...they speak badly about the castle, being here. That kind of thing...

Wh-which is fine! I mean, I understand it's not the greatest circumstances and they can be upset with the situation...but I'm glad there are good things too.

Things have been dark before for those who have been here long enough to remember them.

[Caterina eyes darken at the memory of it.] Not everything is terrible. We are, at the moment, somewhere safe. We are provided for. These are not things to easily dismiss.

Oh...

[Right. He's kind've new, isn't he? He hasn't experienced any of the worst of it, he can't say things like that...

Least that's what he's thinking. He'll nod quickly, frowning a little.]

I'm sorry. I suppose I don't have the right to say anything yet, I haven't seen...the 'worst' of it like you say.

[Caterina waves a hand to dismiss that.] You have the right to say whatever you wish. I pray none of the newer residents will have to see those things.

Yeah...I hope noone does either to be honest.

[He isn't really thinking of himself when he says that, actually. Just worrying about everyone else.]

Or the older residents either. It would be nice if everything just calmed down a bit around here, and stayed it.

Things have been calm enough since I returned. [She doubts it will last but, she knows when to take her victories.]

We will endure regardless.

Yeah, I think...if we all stick together everything will work out just fine.

[He'll give a little smile, nodding once.]

But, um! Ha, I think...maybe it would be better if we moved on from the topic of things taking a turn for the worst...were you going somewhere?

I...haven't seen the gardens at all, actually.

Hm...there were decorations up for a holiday I had never heard of. Weather-wise it was what...you'd expect, I suppose. Cold, but no snow just yet...

A typical October I guess...depending on where you're from.
