Hi. I have this sneaking suspicion that I missed a lot, seeing as it's now January and I think I was kidnapped. So much for my little get together for the new year.

[There's a few metallic clatters here, one of them is drawn out as a ring spins to a slow stop on her desk.]

I also seem to have way more Renaissance-style jewelry than I remember, and that doesn't bode well. Uh, Lucrezia...?

There seems to be a lack of mass confusion, so I'm guessing it was only a few of us that... what? Got stuck in a--I don't even know what that was, really.

Sooooo. Care to fill me in? Anyone? Please tell me I wasn't turned into an old woman or something and just don't remember that.

Sometimes the castle does things, temporarily! People are suddenly older, younger, forget things, change into animals, have violent personality swings, stuff like that--

Though this was weird because I felt like I was somewhere else entirely, but I don't know what I really did, I guess?

And you both didn't warn me about this and you just HAPPENED to be on a personality change that makes you a bitch to your best friend for a night?

I got a little over-eager for the sleepovers and just having you here in general, so I didn't explain everything as thoroughly as I should have. Guess that's karma.

C'mon, you don't seriously think I'd ever talk to you like that, right?

[Oh, god. The guilt is immense, even though she wasn't herself.]

I'm so sorry, Kara. It wasn't me. It sounds like a lame excuse, but that person really wasn't me. I would never say anything like that to you.

[Lomg pause. Sigh.]

It's my fault for not explaining how this stuff happens sometimes.

[She feels like she kicked a puppy.]

I think someone needs a hug, but it'd take me longer to get to your room than for you to get over here.

[Knocking is for losers, but it does give Steph the opportunity to open the door and pull her inside with a hug. A tight one! Not letting go until she's sure it's okay.]

I'm really sorry that happened.

[They were just talking about friendships :( ]

[She frowns, even when Stephanie hugs her, and after a second she hugs back. She can't be mad forever –– it's not like Cassie had never said worse, it's not like she hadn't fought with literally every one of her friends at some point.

Stephanie is her best friend for a reason.

Quietly:]

I'm really sorry that I drenched you with gross fountain water...

[She stays hugging her, though she goes a little rigid.]

[STILL HUGGING...]

That's right. I think I deserved it, then.

... I wonder how many people have been acting crazy in the past few days, though, because I have met a number of them.

True, but now I could go up to someone I just met and they won't remember me, and then they'll be completely different.

Well, there was a hostage situation I was involved in, and the people I worked with were pretty competent.
