Hi. I have this sneaking suspicion that I missed a lot, seeing as it's now January and I think I was kidnapped. So much for my little get together for the new year.

[There's a few metallic clatters here, one of them is drawn out as a ring spins to a slow stop on her desk.]

I also seem to have way more Renaissance-style jewelry than I remember, and that doesn't bode well. Uh, Lucrezia...?

There seems to be a lack of mass confusion, so I'm guessing it was only a few of us that... what? Got stuck in a--I don't even know what that was, really.

Sooooo. Care to fill me in? Anyone? Please tell me I wasn't turned into an old woman or something and just don't remember that.

You future people always talk about how dangerous it is to know the future while spoiling us for it. If someone could tell you your future, you would want to know, too.

Hey, I've had my future withheld from me, too.

You end up content. What else is there to learn?

[He wants to know how they die.

He pulls the meatballs out of the oven.]

[She's quiet for a while, watching him go about the kitchen. The longer she's quiet, the more annoyed she finds herself. Of course he wants to know about the Borgia. There's not really anything else, and that's the one thing Stephanie avoided when he was on his loss.

A sigh, and tries her best not to sound annoyed.]

I don't think you would have been as content as you were if... your goals weren't somehow accomplished.

Nor I do not know what became of my mother. Or Claudia. Or my uncle. Who cares if I am content in the future? I am usually content.

You find out eventually. Isn't that enough? What's the rush?

Because the sooner I do, the sooner I can finish with my work and do other things.

[He drains the pasta so he can start dressing it properly.]

You do finish with your work, and you do do other things. Learning things here won't make that happen any faster at home.

[She's not so sure of that, with how big of an issue Cesare alone has been, but doesn't say it.]

[She gets up, going over to Ezio to give him a peck on the cheek before looking at the food.]

Wow, that smells really good. Looks good, too. You're so my favorite person right now.

[Good, a topic change. He smiles at the kiss and then takes the plates over to the table.]

[Food is always the best topic change, and she is pretty hungry by now. Steph takes a seat.]

I would hope I am always one of your favourite people.

[He passes her the parmesan cheese -- freshly grated -- because you crazy americans pour that shit on.]

You are. But you're my favorite and then some every time you cook something like this.

[A smile, and she proceeds to dump that shit on her pasta. Fuck yeah.]

[He chuckles, under his breath.]

So you are saying that, to be your favourite at all times, I must cook for you at all times.
