[ Arya has a pile of clothes on the floor. One by one, she cuts and rips them. Miraculously, not a single dress has fallen victim. That honor fell upon a grey robe of rough spun wool and a fine page's outfit, which bears on its breast the flayed man of Bolton. The flayed man is the first thing she cuts. ]

Friends;
Who's still here?

Rabbit;
Do you have more of those chocolate eggs?

Frodo;
[ She has the ghosts return his cloak to him. ]

You ought have your cloak back.

Zelos;
[ S'up Zelos. This is a home invasion. And by home invasion I mean she's standing on the sidewalk in front of the house long after night fell. ]

Wake up, stupid!

[ She follows him, hugging her new bow to her. She runs a hand down the wood, marveling at the craftsmanship. ]

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

[He can't help but chuckle softly at how fond she already is of the bow. And he was already eager to see her handle it.]

Shall we have race down to the range, Arya?

[wolfchild]

[ She smirks at him—and starts running. ]

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

[That answered that question! Arya had gotten a headstart but Legolas would not be so easily beaten by so sneaky a trick and ran after her.]

[wolfchild]

[ She, at least, has to struggle in the snow. She's even less willing to fall now and risk any harm coming to her bow. ]

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

[And, cheating elf that he is, he runs lightly on top of the snow.]

[wolfchild]

Cheat! [ Arya screams after him. She throws snow after him. ]

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

[He laughs and turns to look back at her.]

Am I cheating? Shall I sink to your level?

[Oh ho, he's a terrible joker.]

[wolfchild]

I hope you sink!

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

Alas, a trait of my people to walk upon the snow. But I suppose I can make an effort to make this fair.

[wolfchild]

[ GLARING…

Yeah, you better make it fair, you cheating elf. B( ]

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

[SMIRKING! But he makes an effort to sink into the snow.

He's still the best elf, right?]

[wolfchild]

[ After making it to the range, she looks up at him expectantly. ]

Now what?

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

I'll set up a few targets for you and we can shoot together.

[He can use the training bows left here. In his rush to bring Arya her gift, he'd left his own bow in his room.]

[wolfchild]

[ Arya examines one of the arrows. ]

Have you bodkins too?

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

I do, yes but not with me.

[Setting up several targets, all at different distances to give them some challenges.]

I crafted each tip for you by hand. I was determined to make your gift unique.

[wolfchild]

[ Arya lowers the arrow to look at Legolas. A moment's pause and the crosses the short distance between them to hug him. ]

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

[He's actually taken by surprise by the hug. It's the last thing he would have expected from her but there's hardly a pause from him and he smiles and returns it, fondly mussing her hair a bit.]

[ Arya squeezes him a bit tighter than she would have and steps back. ]

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

[He smiles to her and extends a hand towards the targets.]

Shall we then?

[And quickly grabs one of the bows left in the range and a small quiver of arrows.]

[ Arya aims for the closest target. It's a little harder to pull than she expected. For once, she's grateful for her calloused hands. It doesn't hurt as much as she's sure it would have.

She aims a little too long. The arrow strikes to the left of the bullseye. Arya glares at it as if it was the arrow's fault. ]

[Legolas watches quietly, testing the bow he'd chosen and frowning at how easily it pulls in comparison to what Arya's does. He considers, for a moment, offering to loosen the string a bit but it would take away some of the effectiveness of it as a weapon.

Quickly, he grabs a pair of guards for their fingers and offers her one. While they're not often available for a quick battle, he always found it better to use them when possible. Especially so that one didn't ruin themselves when training with a weapon.]

[wolfchild]

Hm? Oh. No, it doesn't hurt. Really. [ She shows him her hand, callused from sword work and overworking. ] They're hard.

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

If you are sure. [He nods and sets them aside.] They'll be here in case you change your mind.

[What little he still knew about Arya, though, he felt that she wouldn't. Tightening the string on his bow, he grabs a few arrows to use himself.]

[wolfchild]

[ She lowers her bow to watch him. ]

There was an archer with us. Anguy? He could feather a man twice over before anyone had time to blink. He never missed. His arrows always went right where he wanted them to.
