[Dictated] In which Cimorene poses some questions

 In the weeks I have been here I have spoken to a great many people.  And some of the things they have mentioned to me sound very strange and curious.

And now I am wondering a great many things.  My own world is filled with such creatures as dragons and djinn and wizards and fire witches and giants and many others beside.  Are there truly so many worlds with none of that?

Also, I am wondering if anyone has any dried feverfew.  I would gather it myself, but I'm afraid it is the wrong time of year for it.

That is true. I would hope the chances of fire are not as high here, but there is no point in giving up a sensible safeguard.

[Almost. Dried feverfew was the main ingredient needed to recast a fireproofing spell. Once she had started living with dragons she had gone to a great deal of effort to locate such a spell.]

It was a major concern at home. Most of the older dragons were decent at controlling their flames, but the younger ones could be forgetful.

No, not at all. I was a dragon's princess. Now I am chief cook and librarian to the King of the Dragons.

Not exactly. The royalty of other worlds seems to be rather different from mine. For example,I have not met a single other person who had to suffer through etiquette lessons learning the proper times and volume to scream while being carried off by a giant.

It was really very boring. I would have much preferred politics or economics.

I've heard royalty is big on that.

My parents were very traditional. [She is completely serious about all of this.] Fortunately they can't argue against being a dragon's captive princess. It is nearly as traditional as arranged marriages.
