First case.
[As soon as Tim found himself suddenly transported to a strange new place, he scurried over to a shadow and began to gather intel. Wherever he went, a journal appeared at the area he was inspecting. After awhile he realized it was the same journal appearing over and over. So, he finally picked it up and began to read through it. The entries gave him a decent idea of what was going on. Combing the entries with the view of the sky made it obvious he was no longer on Earth. Tim was no stranger to the multiverse. He knew that the name “Wayne” was recognized in some of the alternative Earths.
When Tim finally dictates an entry of his own, his voice comes out sounding nervous and awkward. Instead of introducing himself as Tim Drake, the ward of multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne, he's Alvin Draper; confused high-school student.]
Okay, so I know there's the whole “be careful what you wish for”, but this is kind of overkill. And by “kind of”, I mean completely. I just wanted to get out of my Calculus test! A fire alarm or sneeze attack would have worked.
[His voice sounds increasingly nervous as he speaks.]
So, uh, my name is Alvin Draper and I'm not from around here. I don't even know if I'm from the same world as this place. This is what I get for wishing I was in all of those sci-fi novels I've read, huh? Ahaha. Seriously, I never going to wish for anything again. Anyway, um, if anyone could let me know what's going on here and how I get back home, that would be great. Thanks.
[ooc: Just as a side note, since Tim's father is in a coma and not dead in his memories, he currently thinks he's the ward of Bruce Wayne and not his adopted son.]

Luckily Alv doesn't care too much about his hair.

Good. No petty crime for you or Alvin.

[Guess who just lost her powers and is plunking both of them down in the snow, quite accidentally?]
Augh! Cold, cold, cold...
no subject
Oof! [Blinks his eyes a couple of times before looking at her.] Are you okay?
no subject
Yeah, just startled, it's more the cold than anything. Are you okay?
no subject
I'm fine. My suit can handle temperatures like this. As long as it doesn't drop below zero, I'll be okay.
[Whenever it gets that cold he needs his Arctic gear. Another thing he needs to work on once he gets settled in.]
Stay back a few feet so your powers can be restored. I'm going to take a quick look around.

You don't need to tell me twice.
What are you looking for, exactly?
no subject
Anything and everything. This is all unexplored territory for me.

[She sits down in the snow. It's a touch cold anyway, but not enough to bother her. Still, she makes a mental note to herself that she should get a more winter-y looking uniform.]
Lots of people don't seem to want to even leave, so I doubt they bother looking or even thinking about it.

[Finishes scanning the perimeter before putting his binoculars back into his belt.]
Stay here, I'll be back soon.
[Takes off into the snow.]

[She's going to melt the snow down to the grass, so she can have a nice little dry space to stand on.]
no subject
Nice, you saved me some work.
[Uses one of his forensics tools to pluck a couple of blades of grass and a clump of dirt from the ground. Drops them into one of the empty plastic vials he has and closes them off.]
no subject
No problem. I wonder if anyone's done that before.
no subject
Even if they have, we're going to be looking at it with a whole new set of eyes. [Grins at her.] In your case, a set of microscopic eyes. We can compare and contrast the ground, plant life, and water from outside the Dead Zone and inside of it. See if there are any physiological and biological differences between the two.
no subject
Sounds like a good plan. Hopefully the melt so we can get living plant life, too.
Maybe we can catch some animals, too. I bet I could wrangle a buffalo.
no subject
All I'd need from the animals is a blood sample and some fur, then they can be on their way.
no subject
Let's go get them while we're out here, then, when you're finished my hot chocolate.
no subject
Let's go.
no subject
I've never wrestled a buffalo before. Aren't they an endangered species or something back in the USA?
no subject
They are. [Taps his utility belt.] I have a sedative here that you could inject into one of them. That way we can go the more humane route and get what we need.
