Wonderland: Day One

The residents of Paradisa who ventured into the lobby on the 13th would find something new there; a mirror spanning an entire wall. Given recent happenings, who can blame them if they're cautious? Trouble is, this mirror seems to really want to bring people in, because you don't have to get too close before you're through the looking glass.

Once you've gone, you may find that you're not quite yourself.

[Notes/Reminders: Type 1 and Type 2 characters will believe they are Wonderland natives. All characters, including those not entering Wonderland, will be able to use their journals; Wonderland "natives" will think it is a communication device exclusive to Wonderland, although communication between Paradisa and Wonderland through the journals is absolutely possible. You may NPC any number of Tulgey Wood creatures, except for the Jabberwocky.]

Maybe it's not so lucky we missed those flower painters. They probably would have told us were to get some food.

[Yeah, about that. How many hedges are in this yard?]

Or just point out the exit.

[Yeah, that would be better, wouldn't it?]

There's always that.

[Let's not do anything stupid like spend this extra time together talking.]

[Good idea.]

So what now?

[She walks ahead, peering around a hedge.]

[gottaknockhard]

You're asking me?

[3nterprising]

Unless you want me to think of everything now.

[gottaknockhard]

[There's a scary notion.]

You make us sound like a team.

[3nterprising]

Well... why not be here? We have no idea where we are, and I'd rather not be all alone in a strange place like this.

[She thinks better of putting that in the form of a question. Something told her she wouldn't like the answer if she did. And hey. If she has to be lost, she'd rather do it with him. No matter how irritating he can be.]

[gottaknockhard]

[He watches her a moment, thinking. It feels strange to gain her trust again just because she can't remember. Then again, maybe he's reading into it too far.]

I'd enjoy it while you can. [He doubts they're alone. These things are never that easy.]

[She peers at him, an eyebrow raising. He sure had a way of cutting things short.]

Well, I'm trying.

... And you're creeping me out, you know that?

[Of course, she'd been too lazy to actually read the journal's history, but There was something about the way he spoke in general that felt like he was expecting the worst from every situation. Like everything would end.]

[gottaknockhard]

[He could get defensive about that remark, but instead he just adds to that feeling by being quiet. It could be a harmless mirror-world for all he knows. No reason to warn her about anything.]

I wonder if we could climb over the top. [--of the hedges, he means. Isn't it nice the way he always answers questions?]

[3nterprising]

[It was always unsettling when he did that, but Faye found it surprising that she was getting used to it.]

Well, I'm not giving you a boost.

[About as nonchalant as she could muster.]

[gottaknockhard]

[He smirks, looking from the hedge back to Faye.]

Why not?

[3nterprising]

[She stands next to him, leaning into the hedge and examining her fingernails for snags.]

I'm not really the boost giving type.

[gottaknockhard]

[He considers this for a moment before conceding.]

Then I guess you're offering to climb.

[3nterprising]

Are those the only options?

[gottaknockhard]

You're the one who wanted to be a team.

[3nterprising]

[There's a pause before she responds.]

Ok, fine.
[She lifts herself out of the hedge and puts a hand on her hip, the other beckoning in true come at me bro fashion.]
