❀ Episode 03 ❀ [Dictated / Action]

[Rise wakes up in what feels like familiar surroundings, but doesn't look quite right. It's like she's on a huge fluffy cushion or something. This isn't still that Wonderland place, is it?! She doesn't feel like that... fairy groundskeeper or whatever she was supposed to be there anymore.

She rolls over to get up, but feels something weird, but oddly familiar. She's quickly distracted from that when she looks down from the cushion, though. It looks like the pattern on her bed's sheets, but much bigger!

... Uh-oh. Her wings give a little flutter as she starts to consider what that means.

Wait, wings?! Oh, crap!]

Okay, very funny! You can turn me back now!

[Her voice carries over the open journal, and goes almost-silent again for a moment while she uses all the practice she got with those wings in Wonderland to fly around and explore the room. It's definitely hers, and it's huge! She can't be bigger than her cell phone back home now! Actually, it's probably bigger than her.]

... And the door is closed?! Seriously?!

[Okay, she might be starting to panic a little bit here, but she tries to stay calm. She's been in worse situations before back home, all she has to do here is contact someone who can help.]

Hello? Can anyone hear me? This is Rise.

I'm kinda... stuck in my room right now. It's not urgent or anything, but could someone please come soon?

[People met in Wonderland]

Was I the only one acting weird in that mirror place?! And is everyone else back to normal?

[That other fairy girl]

Nora-san, was it?

Did you change back to normal today? ... Or were you always a fairy? I'm sorry, I'm still getting used to this magic castle thing.

[A slightly awkward pause.]

Anyway, can we talk?

[She hasn't said as much to him, but she kind of figured he knew she was still a fairy. She was pretty much screaming at the castle to change her back earlier.

But talking with Pixy has taken her out of the "panic" phase and into "righteous indignation". She feels like she could stay in this room forever, just to avoid asking him for more help!]

Like I said. You're hopeless.

[Not closing the journal on him, but she's pretty much done talking now. Back to sulking and being tiny.]

And you're naive. I think you should be paying attention to your own problem right now before worrying about someone else's.

[He doesn't have a harsh tone about it, if he came off that way it was just out of exhaustion, but he gives a sigh. He doesn't even know if she's there or not right now, so he could be talking at a wall, but if he was he wouldn't really care.]

But I guess I should be grateful that you're showing concern at all.

[therealrisette]

[A pause. And then...]

You should.

[She sounds like she's teasing, though. Not that she doesn't think he should, but she's not remotely scolding him. At least he figured it out.

But what does he expect her to "pay attention to her problem" for?]

It's not like I can do much about this.

You can at least take care of yourself and get better. But I can't think of anything that'll change me back before the castle just... does it.

You have an entirely new body to adjust to, with additional problems that you never faced before. Tell me how that's not a problem to be concerned with.

[He won't say anything about his own medical issues. It almost feels weird to him. Belkan civilians taking him in to let his wounds heal, now this girl that he just met being that concerned. He wasn't really sure what to think about that.]

[She hates it when he makes sense.]

I know that. I just mean I'll be back to normal when it's over.

Besides, it's not entirely new. I've already been like this for a week.

[Dammit, Pixy, stop telling her things she already knows! Not that she'll say that out loud yet. Instead she'll opt for the obvious comeback.]

Yeah, there's no crazy Queen ready to chop off my head or weird dragon things trying to eat me! I think I'll be fine here for a little while.

[He'll stop telling you things you already know when you stop actin' like a daft blonde.]

I wouldn't eliminate those possibilities yet if I were you.

[And she'll stop getting annoyed at you when you stop finding completely opposite reasons to treat her like a moron.]

That sounds a lot like things you'd see in a magic castle.

[That's right, Pixy. She hasn't forgotten.]

[I never gave you permission to sass, missy.]

It's almost as if I wasn't able to figure that out for myself.

[It's my episode and I'll sass if I want to!]

You wouldn't have needed to figure it out if you'd listened in the first place!

[Seriously! First he treats her like some dumb bimbo for believing the story, now he does it because he believes it? What the hell?!]

[Yeah well you better start treating your guest stars better!]

Tell me somethin', kid. If you'd come from a world that had no such thing as 'magic' - such a concept only existing in fairytales - and just coming out of a war where your only weapons were simply result of science and technology, would you be able to take the magic castle story at face value?

[therealrisette]

[Says the guy who keeps starting things by being a jerk!]

... Who said I ever did? It just seemed like a plausible explanation after some of the things I saw on my first day.

[Wow, she sounded a bit like Naoto-kun for a minute there. A bit.

Grudgingly, she continues...]

Buuut, I guess I saw some pretty freaky things back home, so maybe it was easier for me to believe.

[A small pause.]

Still doesn't mean you can go and treat me like some ditz again. And without even apologizing for the first time, too!

[Well MAYBE you shouldn't be so easily offended.]

That doesn't answer my question, but I guess it's close enough.

[Hopefully you weren't actually expecting an apology, Rise. Apologies aren't his style, really.]

You had that persona thing, so it's obvious you'd be able to believe it more.

Me? I could be in a coma in Belka as far as I know.

I thought I was on a movie set at first, so I know what you mean.

[Yes, she's being understanding now. Even though she still thinks he should apologize. But she's smart enough to know that probably won't happen with Pixy.

Once she's over the initial rage at his condescending attitude, she doesn't really know what else to say. Anything she can think of would probably end with Pixy being a jerk again.]

[You've got some serious mood swings there, girl. But there's a lot of things Pixy should do, and a lot of people he should apologize to. Like, you know, his flightlead. Obviously he just won't do them.]

Pretty extravagant set then. If only the answer to this place were that simple.

Yeah...

[Then again, she'd rather be taken against her will by a magic castle that has to return her home eventually than kidnapped and thrown into a world she has to be rescued from again.]

It's not all bad, though. There are a lot of nice people here, and we get to go back home someday.

[And flying around is a lot of fun. She just wishes it didn't come with being so tiny.]

[Your flying experience has nothing on what Pixy has, Rise. And he'd be willing to tell you that too. Bein' in the skies is somethin' else.]

I almost wouldn't be so sure of that for some people. I talked to a guy that said he was here for "three or four years". If there's cases like that, I'm sure longer ones are around.

[Of course, he doesn't know where he'd rather be right now. In this place, or in his home where he's possibly being hunted.]

[Good thing for Rise she has no plans to brag about her flying.

And honestly, the thought of being here for so long does worry her. She's not going to say as much, but it'll come across in her tone.]

But we have to go back sometime.

[That's the thing she's hanging on to. It could be years, but she'll be back home and back to normal eventually.]

[Well fine. You won't hear anything about something Pixy has genuine interest and enjoyment in, and wouldn't be a dick to you about. But his own tone is kind of flat. Hell, one might go as far to say as that it might be a little bit uncaring.]

Maybe, but you'll have to keep in mind that it's entirely possible that it won't be anytime soon.

[therealrisette]

[He so would be a dick about it.]

... I know.

[It's why she's trying to make friends while she's here, because it'll be easier to deal with that way. No matter how long it is.

But she only speaks those two words. She knows. And she's not even harping on Pixy for telling her something she knows again.]

[Would not! He wasn't a dick to Ted about it!]

So, you figure a way to get out of that room of yours or are you gonna be a little fairy in distress?

[Well Ted isn't Rise.]

[She's actually stunned silent for a second, her mind being brought back to her current predicament. And she's not happy about it.]

I'm fine! I have a friend on her way over here now.

[Well, she will, but it's not like she knows that for sure yet. She just doesn't want to admit anything to Pixy. He's probably not even really concerned about her little problem, he just wants to avoid talking about himself and the castle and stuff.]

['course not. He's cuter. /shot]

[Pretty spot on with that last assumption there, Rise. That and he doesn't want to hear you moping again.]

Well, you have fun with that little predicament of yours then. Try not to get yourself chased by monsters this time.

[Not sure saying a little boy is cuter than a teenage girl is helping your case...]

[Just for that little bit of snark, she's going to squeeze every ounce of fun she can out of being able to fly around places. So there.]

[There's a slight bite to her words, but she does genuinely wish him well. For his own health and so he'd stop being such a stubborn ass about one thing, at least.]
