001: Arrival
[Romana is wandering the secret passageways between the Council Rooms and her Presidential Chambers. Ever since the supposed assassination attempt on her life; from which the Romana of this Gallifrey had, in fact, died; the only time she received time to herself was during these walks.
It was so frustrating that the Time Lords of this Gallifrey were so overly “proper.” It was even getting on Narvin’s nerves and that was saying something. But she had been right about one thing: being called “Supreme Leader” became old, very quickly.
As she walks, she is paying more attention to her thoughts rather than where she is going. It seemed that the "Free Time Virus" had yet to arrive here, but that didn't mean it wouldn't and that is cause for great concern. She turns a corner and opens the door to her private rooms. So lost is she in thought, that it takes her a full minute to realize that she is not in her private chambers. She looks around the room.]
This isn’t at all where I planned to be. I must have taken a wrong turn.
[It wasn't all that unusual to happen. Although this Alternate Gallifrey is very similar to her own, every once in awhile a subtle difference reveals itself. She walks back to the door, opens it and looks into the hall. Through one of the great windows in the hall, she can see outside. it looks nothing like Gallifrey. For starters the sky is a pristine blue, rather than the burnt-orange she expects to see.]
This… doesn’t look like Gallifrey.
[For a moment, Romana is hopeful that perhaps K-9 and Irving Braxiatel had finally sorted a way to get her back to the prime universe. She smiles warmly and runs into the hall.]
Brax!? K-9? I’m here! You did it! You brought me back! And none too soon. Did you retrieve Narvin as well?
[Her face falls as she looks around and didn’t see them anywhere.]

[Dictated, audio]
[River sounds a bit breathless, but then again she has been stuck in a room with the Eleventh Doctor for two days by now]
Anyway, you're far from Gallifrey. This is a castle called Paradisa. I'd greet you in person, but I'm currently being held hostage. I'm sure the Doctors will respond immediately.
[Dictated, audio]
[Romana should be quite used to disembodied voices speaking to her, but this was a strange place, so she wasn't sure if this was normal or not. And she hasn't seen her journal yet.]
Held hostage?
[Romana looks around her, expecting nets to drop from the ceiling or someone to jump out from around the corner any second. The "Far from Gallifrey" remark doesn't phase her. She hasn't been to her Gallifrey in sometime.
She moves back towards her room, where she thought the voice was coming from. And when she looks at the door, she notes her name is upon it. "Romanadvoratrelundar" Nothing about her being Madame President, which draws a bit of a scowl.]
Well, at least it's spelled right. I suppose that means this is my room.
[She enters again and searches for the source of the voice.]
Re: [Dictated, audio]
[Yeah, she doesn't know who this woman is at all, but she seemed interesting enough and she's always been interested in the Doctor's past. About Gallifrey and the Time Lords]
I don't think I'm the right person to speak to. If you're native Gallifreyan, you're probably in for a big shock.
[The Time war, end of the Gallifreyan race, etc etc]
Anyway, I'm River Song.
[Dictated, audio]
Oh, I say, that is... fascinating.
[But on to more pressing matters.]
I am Romanadvoratrelundar, President of the Supreme Council of Gallifrey and all of her Dominions. You named this place "Paradisa". Do you know what universe it is in?
[Which is the most important question to Romana.]
[Dictated, audio]
A pleasure to meet you, Madame president.
[Good grief she could already tell this woman was going to be trying. River didn't run around just blurting out her titles, although if she did she might end up in prison so there's that]
Nope, not a clue. Some alternate universe that sucks certain people inside. There's a blonde version of the Doctor here, he might be able to help. I'm afraid my knowledge of Gallifrey stems purely from research. I'm an archaeologist by trade.
[ Go ahead and laugh, get it out of your system, she's heard worse]
[Dictated, audio]
An archaeologist and you think you know anything about Gallifrey?
[Oh yes, Romana is greatly amused. But the blonde version of the Doctor...]
The clothes this Doctor wears? Brightly colored or does he have an affectation for wearing vegetables?
[Dictated, audio]
A great deal, considering I know the Doctor and I based my doctorate on your society.
[Yeah, she's a little huffy. Why does everyone hate on archaeology?]
Yeah, that's him alright. The one that has affection for vegetables. Right now the castle is playing games and shacking certain people up together. You should hear from him soon, but I don't know what room he might have ended up in. Valentines' day nonsense.

[And at this point there's only one reason why...]
You're... [She sounds almost depressed.] From my future.
[But it came out as a steady statement of fact.]

A woman told me... River, I believe was her name. She mentioned the Master was here too.
[That last part was said with the "You'd better explain, Doctor" tone.]

stupid castle]
Romana, is that you?
Fifth Doctor
Doctor!?
[Presidential privileges and all. She never knew this incarnation, but her knowledge from the Matrix allows her to know his voice. River had supplied the rest of the information.]
Of course it's me.
[But that was said more fondly than anything.]

In the dark.
Fifth Doctor
Well, that's a way to start a conversation...

It seems I can only get bits out of anyone. I'm clearly not in E-Space anymore.
[She will try to preserve the timelines as much as she can.]
