I really think there needs to be a better descriptor than "cool" in its...conversational sense, when it's gotten this chilly.

[Sayaka, "conversational" doesn't work that way.

Although she does sound somewhat awestruck. Maybe something happened earlier?]

Like, I could come up with a few choice words, but they just don't carry over well, it seems. Plus, using the same word over and over gets stale, when -- [OOPS, almost divulged the party she is referring to!

(Spoilers: he is tall, cream-coloured, and dapper. And has excellent taste in suits, not that she knows about such things.)]

Uh...yeah... [awkwardly...trailing off. CUE SUBJECT CHANGE] Plus, general warning: don't run or walk too fast, the ice can be slippery.

Doesn't look good...

[since she went to bed early, Sayaka missed all the ruckus going down last night. While headed down the steps of Gaudium Tower, the journal catches the tail end of her thinking aloud, but also distracts her from noticing another presence until it gets close...

...too close.

The cat springs.

Everything happens quickly. Before she can react, the cat has already begun making its escape. Thrown off balance, the leg she was taking her next step with gone, Sayaka tumbles down the stairway, journal landing somewhere in the distance. The open pages record a shocked cry fading as she falls further away from them, mixed among sickening thumps]

[dictated; Sayaka's usual nocurr tone has been replaced with some suspicion]

At first I thought it was a trick of the eye, but...those fairy-like creatures? Have fangs. Wouldn't do to provoke them.

[seriously, people, did you already forget what happened the last time fairies showed up and threw crazy glitter EVERYWHERE.

And for those who happen to see her outside, she's carefully stepping away from the forming miniature castle, only to back into -- okay, more like break apart -- another fairy ring. Uh-oh. So much for taking her own advice?]

[the perk of not being in the large group that left the castle? Less competition for choice seats in the movie theater.

The downside of having little company? Having no one wake her up when she falls asleep -- the chair was really comfy, okay? And the movie she was waiting to end was dull]

Crap.

[...ah, the journal. Have a dictated message:] Just checking because I don't have a watch on me right now, but...it's Saturday, right?

[you never know, more so with the castle's seeming fondness for messing with her sleep and/or locking her up in places. Getting stuck in here until the next time the theater opens would be Very Inconvenient]

[ooc: also open for theater action!]

[at first, there's just the sound of running water and a tap being turned off.

Then dictation, slightly muffled and hesitant, as if she had deliberately placed some distance between herself and the open journal. Which would be accurate.]

I'm guessing not too many spotted the rather resident-ish statues on the camp grounds.

[and this is a grinding pop as she works her stiff jaw, before continuing]

Feels like we changed around midnight back there.

[Sayaka trails off uncertainly, and ends up pausing at that awkward place. Spending an entire week with a toothbrush stuck in your mouth will do that]

Locked in what seems to be a home ec teacher's finest dream. With some other people. [read: she didn't care enough to get all their names]

We have our journals, [obviously,] so if someone you know went missing yesterday, he or she might be here. Don't listen in otherwise, the most exciting thing that's happened is a fire. [...] And guys trying to use sewing machines. [LIKE SHE CAN HANDLE ONE ANY BETTER (well, maybe, some of their skills are questionable. Sam, what are you even doing?)]

[ooc: open for communication to/from the room \o/ and action for plot participants, if you'd like]

[fact: Route 4, outside Castelia City, is home to a certain species of Fire-type Pokémon.

fact: Fire-type moves are effective against Bug-types.

fact: Sayaka's starter is
a Bug-type.

pretty obvious where we're going with this, no? After having their butts thoroughly handed to them and one too many trips to the Pokémon Center, the duo of fail finally decided on taking a break. What should they find but...]

A Gym, specializing in Bug-types?

[she looks at the sign outside the hive-like building, then at her tiny companion] Maybe they know how to help you become stronger.

[ooc: open over journals or within Castelia!]

[filtered to clinic staff, other medical practitioners, people with knowledge of first aid]

[her pen stills for a moment, then adds on to the filter:]

[does not include users of healing techniques magic-based in nature]

Say I intend to learn how to patch someone up. Not necessarily myself. Where would you recommend I begin?

[oh, right...should give them some idea what they're working with]

Consider my knowledge in this field next to none. [what little she has, she picked up from hanging around the class health officer and being in the presence of hospital people for months on end] Like, if I were given the idiot-unfriendly name of a pill that ends with "ium" or "ate," I wouldn't have any idea what it's supposed to do to a patient.

[Sayaka can be found all over the castle, her eyes mostly on the ground, peering into corners when she comes across them. Those who've met her at some point before might notice how she looks a little different today -- the observant will know it's because her bangs keep falling in her face. This is further accentuated by her head being down so much.

And she seems distracted, too. Enough to not watch where she's going all that closely, maybe bump into someone...?]
