Well, I'm not really so sure about this ball... It sounds fun, but a king taking the throne? Did we have a different one before, or is this all new?

I also can't paint. I don't know why, it's just... Not working. I don't know how to explain it, I just can't.

On the other hand, the fairies are sure sweet. I helped them bake this morning.

[dictated; Sayaka's usual nocurr tone has been replaced with some suspicion]

At first I thought it was a trick of the eye, but...those fairy-like creatures? Have fangs. Wouldn't do to provoke them.

[seriously, people, did you already forget what happened the last time fairies showed up and threw crazy glitter EVERYWHERE.

And for those who happen to see her outside, she's carefully stepping away from the forming miniature castle, only to back into -- okay, more like break apart -- another fairy ring. Uh-oh. So much for taking her own advice?]

[Brock hasn't been particularly nice to the fairies, but he's left them well alone.

Apparently that's enough to be counted as nice, because there are a few that are constantly flitting around his head, playing with his hair.

And it's annoying.

Growling in frustration, he snaps open his journal and dictates to it.]

Is this going to be a regular thing, now? If these guys are ushering in fall or whatever, I don't want to have to deal with this the whole freaking season. No -- knock it off!

Can't we just like ... push them into their little rings until they go the hell home, or what.

[Because fairy rings are totally portals, thanks for the lesson, Maladict! Now Brock's going to pretend like he always knew that.

Then he takes the journal away from his face, and he can be heard yelling at the fairies for screwing with his hair. He might say something about ... ribbons.]

I'm about to get a can of Raid, swear to god.

Molotov Cocktease )

[ooc. open over the journal or in person! he's just stomping around the castle with fairies orbiting his head :'( sometimes there might be a ribbon or two (or more) in his hair ...]

It is difficult to stay sad with all of the bustle and activity going around the castle. It has also felt like quite a long time since I was actually in one place long enough to see the seasons change... it makes me feel more stable than I have since my arrival here. I also seem to be finding small treats I have not been wishing for in my pockets every so often.

[There's a pause before he adds:]

I questioned whether or not I was going to attend the ball, but I think it would do me good. It would feel like regaining a little piece of the life I left behind.

We've had so many masquerades over the years...

...Is it a faux pas if someone wears the same thing over and over?

[Harry usually doesn't spend much time in libraries, he's more of an hands on guy. But he does have his reasons. Since he nearly run out of bullets he has been trying to find ways to get more. Not having met anyone means he's left with one choice, make some. Therefore he's in the library, browsing after books on bullet making while trying to ignore those strange fairies.]

Yeah, let's all go to some random fucking ball put on by magical fairies that came the fuck out of nowhere. Because that sure doesn't sound like some kind of trap.

[ there is some distinctive faerie giggling from nearby, followed by a sharp 'Fuck! Go away!' from Agito. ]

Anyone else having trouble getting them to stay the fuck away from your hair?

[ooc; open for action on the roof! he's got his babby skunk with him just chilling. ]

What does one usually wear to a 'masquerade ball' like this? Um, other than the required mask.

...I've never been to one of these before.

[Yes, he sounds pretty lost. Yes, this is open season on suggesting outfits to him]

[ Or if you really want to see him in person instead of talking to him over the journal, James is outside on the front steps, watching the night sky and the little fairies that keep flittering about the place. ]

Now I can't say I'm an expert on magical creatures myself, but I've taken enough classes to know a thing or two about the basics, and I know for a fact the average fairy doesn't exactly operate the way these ones have been behaving. Not sure what their whole building kick is all about, I didn't even know fairies were the industrial type.

Who would have guessed? Friendly lot too. They're very fond of gift giving, aren't they?

While I'm on it, speaking of things going on, anyone got a spare dress robe lying around? I could always wish one up, but I'm not too keen on that.
