Uh... Is it- working?
[Okay, those are definitely the letters that make up the word uh but the rest of it is just jumbled up nonsense. Still, Cass is just going to trust this thing is writing down what she's saying.]
I'm- lost. I think. Castle is big. In book room. Um, library. [Come on Cass, use the right names for things.] Could use [help] information. Um... tips? Meeting in person... would be best.
[Nothing happens for a minute, but then Cass remembers the important part about introductions: You have to actually introduce yourself.]
I'm Cassandra. Cain.
[If anyone does go looking for her, they'll find Cass poking through the books and possibly looking at them like she's reading them, but once you're close enough it's clear... she's holding the book upside down. Oops.]
((ooc: Cass can't read, so any written replies might give her trouble. Feel free to find her in the library for in person meetings!)

Ah, Steph will be delighted to hear this, if you are who I think you are.

And that name makes her sad for a moment, so she doesn't respond right away. It can't be her Stephanie, hers is dead. Steph is a popular name.]
Probably going to... disappoint, sorry.
no subject
[Stephanie didn't say this chick had a speaking problem, though. Pardon Ezio's heavy Italian accent.]
no subject
How- Where are you? Come to library.
[She has to see him, to see if he's telling the truth. To find out how he could possibly know Stephanie's name.]
no subject
What if I fetched Stephanie for you, first?
no subject
She's dead. Will have hard time- fetching.

Now, now, there is no need for that. Relax, hmm? I will be at the library shortly.
no subject
The relax part, though? It's entirely insulting. Maybe she won't rip his spine out but there's a pretty good chance she'll chuck a book at his face.]
Fine. Walk faster.

She walks towards him, but she's never been particularly good at personal space and she wants information, wants it now, so she doesn't stop at a respectable distance. Instead she gets in close, but she's shorter than him - nothing new - so she has to frown up at him once she's securely in his personal bubble.]
How do you- know that name?
no subject
Which name? Hers?
no subject
Yes, hers. Only name... that's important.
no subject
[Explaining his friendliness, of course. Normally, Ezio doesn't care much about new residents. Here, though, is different.
He's also glad he's in jeans and a button-up collared shirt today. He doesn't really feel like explaining that he's from 1488 right now, amidst the other confusion.]
no subject
And that does explain why his body tells her he knows her, but it doesn't clear up much of her confusion. She's still frowning, but at least now some of that desperate anger is bleeding out of her. He said is. Steph is, not was.]
What? [What did Steph say, what does he know? She isn't sure she likes the idea of strangers knowing things about her that Cass hasn't told them herself, but if Steph trusted him, maybe Cass can too.]
no subject
[Ezio isn't sure which part is more confusing to her.]
You are a talented assassin, hmm? Or the child of them, at least. I've looked forward to meeting you. [He grins.] Tim has asked that I send you to Stephanie so that she can explain things herself, though.

Ezio.
Ezio, don't talk to Cass about Steph yet. It's not my place to tell you why, if Steph hasn't told you already something that happened back home, but hold off on telling Cass that Steph's here.
[Saying the next word is hard to say to Ezio, but in this instance he doesn't have any other choice.]
Please, Steph needs to be the one to let Cass know she's here.
Tim
Well, it's too late now, and she should know already.
Is this about Stephanie's trip to Africa?
Ezio.
Tim

Forces his voice to sound like it had previously, not wanting to give away how shaken and upset he is at the moment.]
If you care for Steph the way you say you do, then you'll let her handle this.
Tim
Do not doubt my affections for Stephanie, Tim.
I trust she knows best.
Ezio.
What the hell, Ezio?! What part of "let Steph handle this" did you not understand?! Forget I said anything to you, I'll handle this.
[Disconnects]
