[ The castle grounds holding the gardens have been transformed into a spring party sensation. Tall banners carrying the Tudor rose have been arranged in a representation of a border surrounding the celebration and events, but there are no real walls or barriers. It might make guarding difficult for the few in her employ, but that's hardly Queen Anne's problem. Nobody will be kept away unless they arrive with no mask (or representation of a mask), and although it might be hard to tell considering it's a masquerade, there will be some people (not many) from the city who have decided tentatively to accept Anne's invitation, helping fill in the crowd.

The theater stage has been covered in flowers of all sorts, as are the four wooden thrones arranged in the center. Each seat is taken, a tie for both King and Queen making for double the fun! Robb and Lucrezia have dressed as Orion and Diana, while Zelos and Galadriel have chosen Odysseus and Penelope (with a little help). The tops of their heads have been left bare, at least for the opening ceremony.

In front of them stands Anne in her costume, and she waits for the crowd to quiet before she speaks. ]

Good citizens of Cair Paradisa and City Royale, you come here today to seek pleasure and company, and I have never seen a finer or more unique looking peoples. I know you may find it difficult to smile in the wake of such recent tragedy. All here have known loss, but we have not let it conquer us, have we? God is with us. Brave souls here risked the unknown to discover the cause, while other remained to help rebuild. I am fiercely proud to see such dedication to one another, and I can only hope such unity continues to blossom! The work on the city will continue, as will the rehabilitation of the survivors most affected by calamity.

But today we spread our arms wide and heartily welcome summer. Today we make merry and keep our loves close. Today we celebrate an unprecedented event, two Queens and Kings!

[ She turns and walks over to the thrones, where the ladies hold crowns of roses in their laps and the men crowns of wooden antlers. She names each as she settles the crowns atop their heads. ]

Queen Galadriel. King Zelos. Queen Lucrezia. King Robb.

[ In playful deference, Anne will lift her skirts and curtsy to the four of them when they stand to announce that the festivities begin! ]

[Lucrezia had been fairly extensive with her dancing lessons so it isn't hard to remember which one it is he's setting them up for, how she's supposed to move her body in relation to his. She's familiar and she's comfortable, so they shouldn't have any problems. Hopefully.

She ducks her head to hide a grin when he says he talks a lot. The filigree on her mask kind of makes keeping her identity secret a joke, so there's really no reason not to introduce herself.]

[He meanwhile will begin the dance when it seems that she's ready. He's keeping the steps to be pretty basic and easy for now, to gauge her own skill. A good dance leader is supposed to accommodate the lady after all!]

[Something more than that? Hm, maybe. But he'll focus on her instead]

Cassandra, huh? A pleasure- I'm Zelos...though you probably already knew that. [Heh heh] Are you new around here?

Might have... figured it out.

[Since they announced it and everything. The dance is easy for her, she's able to just focus on the conversation and move with him, which is always helpful. Words are generally harder for her than movement.]

Kind of. Got here... before earthquake. It's been... a month?

[She thinks, she kind of stinks at keeping track of time.]

Really? Damn. I'll have to try to be sneakier with my identity next time.

[you know instead of having it announced. But details. ]

A month huh? Not long at all, but not completely fresh either. What do you think of it?

[Details are the things not-kings have to deal with, he should be good for today at least.]

I like it. Had... friends here, already. One I thought... was dead. So, it's been good.

[Good is a gross understatement to explain how she feels about getting Stephanie back, but the smile she's got, huge and pleased and okay, maybe a little dorky, should fill in the blanks and show how much it means to her.]

No, I mean...with masquerades it's about secret identities right? Doesn't work so well if you get announced to the whole party.

[or something like that. And oh, a dead friend? Yeah...he could see why that'd be nice. Especially with a smile like that]

Good good! Having friends in this place makes it a whole lot easier.

This is... first one, for me. Still learning the rules. Knew hiding was part, but not... whole reason.

[It makes sense, though. Being behind a mask can give a person the courage to do things they might not do otherwise. And her smile is there still, directed right at him now instead of inspired by someone else.]

Oh yeah, that's the charm! Disguised faces, no one knows who you are- people really dig it.

[Not that his hair isn't usually a dead giveaway, but hey whatever. Sometimes he wears a hat]

[At the offer he seems slightly surprised at the offer. It's not anything personal against Cass so much as just...well, not many people offer so directly about being friends. Not to him, anyway]
