[ The castle grounds holding the gardens have been transformed into a spring party sensation. Tall banners carrying the Tudor rose have been arranged in a representation of a border surrounding the celebration and events, but there are no real walls or barriers. It might make guarding difficult for the few in her employ, but that's hardly Queen Anne's problem. Nobody will be kept away unless they arrive with no mask (or representation of a mask), and although it might be hard to tell considering it's a masquerade, there will be some people (not many) from the city who have decided tentatively to accept Anne's invitation, helping fill in the crowd.

The theater stage has been covered in flowers of all sorts, as are the four wooden thrones arranged in the center. Each seat is taken, a tie for both King and Queen making for double the fun! Robb and Lucrezia have dressed as Orion and Diana, while Zelos and Galadriel have chosen Odysseus and Penelope (with a little help). The tops of their heads have been left bare, at least for the opening ceremony.

In front of them stands Anne in her costume, and she waits for the crowd to quiet before she speaks. ]

Good citizens of Cair Paradisa and City Royale, you come here today to seek pleasure and company, and I have never seen a finer or more unique looking peoples. I know you may find it difficult to smile in the wake of such recent tragedy. All here have known loss, but we have not let it conquer us, have we? God is with us. Brave souls here risked the unknown to discover the cause, while other remained to help rebuild. I am fiercely proud to see such dedication to one another, and I can only hope such unity continues to blossom! The work on the city will continue, as will the rehabilitation of the survivors most affected by calamity.

But today we spread our arms wide and heartily welcome summer. Today we make merry and keep our loves close. Today we celebrate an unprecedented event, two Queens and Kings!

[ She turns and walks over to the thrones, where the ladies hold crowns of roses in their laps and the men crowns of wooden antlers. She names each as she settles the crowns atop their heads. ]

Queen Galadriel. King Zelos. Queen Lucrezia. King Robb.

[ In playful deference, Anne will lift her skirts and curtsy to the four of them when they stand to announce that the festivities begin! ]

[Tim has to admit, it feels great to wear a mask again, even if it's only for a social occasion like this. One of his favorite aspects about being Robin was being able to forge a new identity for himself. Often times, he would use the mask as an escape from being Tim Drake and take a break from his personal problems. Wearing a costume also gave him a chance to try out a different aspect of his costume skills; going undercover to gather inside information.

And of course, the geeky side of him liked the fantasy aspect that went with elaborate costumes. Having an excuse to dress up like this makes said geeky side want to give the rest of him a massive high-five.

Tim's observing the dances for a few minutes, wanting to get a feel for the overall style of the various dances.]

[And here's his partner in geekdom. The things she does for you, Tim. The things she does... not that she's not having a blast herself. She grins and slips her arms around him from behind, not caring if she's interrupting anything.]

Hey, handsome.

[dorkwonder]

[A smile graces his face at the contact, covering her hands with his own.]

Hey, you. How are you enjoying the ball so far?

It's freakin' awesome. [Gives him a squeeze before letting go so she can stand in front of him.] Everyone looks so cool. How about you?

[dorkwonder]

Likewise. Although I would have a lot more fun, if I was dancing with a certain someone. [Offers his arm to her.]

[secondchances]

[She takes it with a big smile.]

Going to these things with an actual date is pretty nice.

[dorkwonder]

[Leads the way to the dance floor.]

I've been spoiled. Since I've been here, I've had someone to show me the ropes and now I have a date for every occasion.

I'll spare you the woeful tales of Stephanie Brown flying solo at each and every ball and dance for the past three years.

[dorkwonder]

You can fill me instead with the details of the tales of Stephanie Brown and her dashing pirate date.

Meh. He's alright.

[dorkwonder]

Just alright? Doesn't sound like much of a tale.

[secondchances]

What's there to say? He's the best. [Kiss! :') ]

[dorkwonder]

This tale suddenly got much more interesting. [Returns the smooch.]

[hellofist]

[She's been keeping an eye out for him, so once Cass spots him she makes her way over with a pleased smile on her face.]

You look good, in mask. Go figure.

[dorkwonder]

Thanks. You look fantastic. [Tim's face lights up when Cass approaches him.]

[She may never get used to that, him being so glad to see her all the time. She smiles at his compliment and looks down at her dress, smoothing her hands over the bodice and the skirt.]

Thank you. It's fun, dressing up sometimes.

[dorkwonder]

It's a nice change of pace. [Wishes Paradisa was larger so it would be easier to get away with wearing their armor.

Holds his hand out to her.]

We're here to dance, but the two of us haven't danced yet. We need to do something about that.

[hellofist]

[Well, that doesn't need to be suggested twice. She takes Tim's hand with a nod, looking quite pleased with this development.]

Yes please. I took lessons.

[dorkwonder]

[Leads the way onto the dance floor. Once they are there, he wraps an arm around her waist and takes hold of one of her hands.]

Oh? From who?

[hellofist]

[Cass puts her free hand on Tim's shoulder and waits for him to start the dance, since he's taking the male part.]

Lucrezia and Joshua. Went there, when you and Stephanie... were busy.

[dorkwonder]

[Don't mind the color forming in his cheeks. Although he doesn't get flustered, Cass meeting Joshua could be very useful, even if he's not happy she went there by herself.]

What do you think of Joshua?

[hellofist]

[It hadn't been the first time, either. The blushing is odd, but she can't quite tell what's causing it.]

Talked to him, earlier. We're friends now. [She pauses, considering that.] He doesn't... use that word, but it's close enough.

[dorkwonder]

Do you think he's dangerous? Steph has a lot of concerns over him, and he's caused some problems in the past.

[hellofist]

[She doesn't answer right away, just watches him while they dance.]

Have you talked to him?

[dorkwonder]

No, not yet.

[He hasn't gathered enough intel on him yet. Keeps her gaze, figuring none of this will come as a surprise to her.]
