[ The castle grounds holding the gardens have been transformed into a spring party sensation. Tall banners carrying the Tudor rose have been arranged in a representation of a border surrounding the celebration and events, but there are no real walls or barriers. It might make guarding difficult for the few in her employ, but that's hardly Queen Anne's problem. Nobody will be kept away unless they arrive with no mask (or representation of a mask), and although it might be hard to tell considering it's a masquerade, there will be some people (not many) from the city who have decided tentatively to accept Anne's invitation, helping fill in the crowd.

The theater stage has been covered in flowers of all sorts, as are the four wooden thrones arranged in the center. Each seat is taken, a tie for both King and Queen making for double the fun! Robb and Lucrezia have dressed as Orion and Diana, while Zelos and Galadriel have chosen Odysseus and Penelope (with a little help). The tops of their heads have been left bare, at least for the opening ceremony.

In front of them stands Anne in her costume, and she waits for the crowd to quiet before she speaks. ]

Good citizens of Cair Paradisa and City Royale, you come here today to seek pleasure and company, and I have never seen a finer or more unique looking peoples. I know you may find it difficult to smile in the wake of such recent tragedy. All here have known loss, but we have not let it conquer us, have we? God is with us. Brave souls here risked the unknown to discover the cause, while other remained to help rebuild. I am fiercely proud to see such dedication to one another, and I can only hope such unity continues to blossom! The work on the city will continue, as will the rehabilitation of the survivors most affected by calamity.

But today we spread our arms wide and heartily welcome summer. Today we make merry and keep our loves close. Today we celebrate an unprecedented event, two Queens and Kings!

[ She turns and walks over to the thrones, where the ladies hold crowns of roses in their laps and the men crowns of wooden antlers. She names each as she settles the crowns atop their heads. ]

Queen Galadriel. King Zelos. Queen Lucrezia. King Robb.

[ In playful deference, Anne will lift her skirts and curtsy to the four of them when they stand to announce that the festivities begin! ]

[Jane jumps at the voice. She hadn't expected anyone to find her in here, even if they were running around the labyrinth. She turns and spots the little girl.]

Oh! Um...no, I'm not lost at all!

[Buuut Ib misinterprets this as the kind of thing Garry would say if he was totally lost and didn't want to admit it. She decides to put it gently.]

... I went down that way already, there's nothing there.

[Bluuuuh children. You're all really sweet.]

That's why I came this way.

[Why would y- oh. Oh, she wants to be left alone. Ib steps back, super embarrassed.]

Oh. I'm sorry.

[Oh no Jane, look at what you did. You made a child feel bad.]

Oh, no! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it like that, I...

[asdffyjdezs;fdvh well this is awkward.]

I didn't mean to bother you, though...

I-It's not a bother!! [She tries to give you a smile, though maybe it looks a little odd? Maybe?] Er, what are you doing in here? Looking for something?

Uh... no, I was just exploring. That's allowed, isn't it? [oh man what if she wasn't supposed to be in here in the first place wat do]

O-Of course it is! [Who would even prevent someone from exploring, there's nothing wrong with that.] I wouldn't say you couldn't even if this was my party!

Oh, okay.

[That's a relief. Ib is really not the rule-breaking sort, and she doesn't want to give people the wrong idea by getting in trouble. But on the other hand, this girl seems friendly and nice... why does she want to be all alone during such a big party?]

... Are you gonna be all right?

[It's really sweet of Ib to ask, even though they've just met. Jane nods.]

I'll be fine. It's just been a difficult few days, is all.

[Ah... Well, there's got to be something she can do. It's then that Ib remembers something, and reaches into her pocket ~~or inventory I don't know~~ to pull out a couple of bonbons in gold wrappers, which she'd found among the stuff at the feast and taken to save for later. It's like when Garry had given her that lemon candy... even though she hadn't eaten it, it still helped. She lass-scampers over and holds the candies out to Jane.]

Here. Take these.

[If Jane can still have a sylladex, Ib can still have an inventory.

Speaking of Jane, she looks at the offering curiously. It's a small gesture, but it is unexpected, and very sweet. She smiles.]

Oh my, thank you...but I couldn't possibly take them all! Aren't they yours?

It's okay, I can get more. [They were free, after all.]

Well...if you're sure.

[She'll only take one...taking candy from kids feels really weird though! And she doesn't even know you!]

What's your name?

[Success, anyway! Helping strangers is not actually that weird a circumstance for her. Ib smiles.]

Ib. What's yours?

Ib...okay, I'll be sure to remember that. [Oddest name she's heard yet, but okay.]

My name is Jane.

Nice to meet you, Jane. I hope you feel better soon!

[If there are no further questions, she will wave and scurry off~]

Uh - thanks! Same to you.

[She'll wave you off, a little bewildered. The candy goes right in the sylladex.]
