Open Post: Hogsmeade

[it's Saturday, so it's time to kick back and enjoy the lovely sights of Hogsmeade. Have a drink at the Three Broomsticks, grab some sweets from Honeydukes, or dare to check out the famously haunted Shrieking Shack! Just kick back and enjoy yourselves today!

This is technically only open to third years and above, but if you can sneak out without teachers noticing more power to you!]

[Carolina nods after a moment and moves toward the counter to talk to the photographer.] Three, please.

[For his solo picture, York makes sure to pose in his most ridiculous wizard pose, copied off the way M had yelled at him to hold his wand in Transfigurations class.]

[Oh she can't help but laugh at that, even as she tries to hide it. For her solo picture, though, she's not sure what exactly to do other than copy what he did and make a wizarding pose, albeit with less drama.]

Looks good.

[And when it's time for them to pose together, he seems to hesitate a little. Hmm.]

I know.

[He'll grab a piece of candy from his bag and once the camera rolls, give it to her and wink.]

[Carolina raises an eyebrow at the offer of the candy. She accept sit with a curious expression, her fingers barely ghosting across his as she does so.] What's this for?

You know. Since it's how we met. We could each take a bite in the picture.

[It's not a kiss or anything, but being kicked is really low on York's priority list for after they turn back to normal.]

Got it. [Yeah, she had thought about a kiss but she had just met him. It would be better to relax a bit on that. Nodding, she watches him as she bites into the candy with a bright smile.]

[York bites into it after her and gives her a big grin as the photographer does his magic. This should end up being a great picture.]

Awesome. Now can these be delivered to the castle once they're developed?

[The shopkeeper replies in the affirmative and York pays for his pictures, then looks inquiringly at Carolina. Should he pay for hers too?]

[Carolina keeps grinning at him as she follows him up to the counter. She simply pulls out her own little bag of coins and pays for her picture and a copy of the one of the two of them and his solo. Hey maybe she wants to remember him too.]

Three Broomsticks?

[He gives her his best teenage smile.]

Let's go.

[After he makes sure his pictures are securely packed, of course.]

[She tucks hers away as well, taking one last moment to smile affectionately down at the candy-eating photo. Yeah, that's super fucking cute.

Of course she'll lead the way over to the Three Broomsticks, but she'll try to more or less walk beside him to encourage conversation and ~closeness~.]

[And he'll stay close to her as well, of course. It's pretty easy to ask leading questions about wizard school without giving away that he has no real idea what one does at wizard school.

When the reach the homely pub, York has to smile.]

So what's good here?

[Occasionally, her footfalls will stray a little closer to him, leading her to brush up against him every now and then in ~~kind of obvious~~ SUPER SUBTLE HINTS of her attraction. She'll answer every question he throws at her with the expertise one might expect of a wizard version of Carolina and by the time they reach the pub, she's more than excited to talk more about him than anything wizardly.]

Everything.

[She'll reach out to try and grab him around the wrist to lead him toward one of the smaller tables.]

[There's a part of York's teenage instincts that just wants to drag her off to Gryffindor Tower and make like bunnies, but an older internal voice tells him to remember that he really would like to keep those genitals when he grows up, thank you very much. So as it is he just lights up when she grabs his wrist and willingly lets himself be dragged along.]

I'll have--uh--butterbeer.

[Is it alcoholic? York's not even sure he cares.]

[Whether or not it's alcoholic doesn't matter to Carolina either as she quickly orders two and scoots her chair up next to him.]

Where did you transfer from, York?

This other castle, Paradisa. It's got a couple hundred people, but I think there are more here. The plus side is we get to visit other places a lot. Downside being we never get to stay for very long.

[Probably best to stick as close to the truth as possible.]

[Carolina nods as she listens, her gaze pretty well locked on him like his had been on her when they first met.]

You travel around for most of your schooling?

Well, maybe not most of it. But it happens a lot, seems like. I guess it's a good way to learn new techniques, different cultures--

[He takes a drink of the butterbeer. Not bad.]

--new food and drink, that sort of thing. Makes us more, I don't know, aware of everybody than we would be otherwise.

[Carolina nods again and takes a sip of her butterbeer when it arrives. Mmm, tasty as always.]

I didn't know there were schools that did that. Does all the traveling ever get disruptive?

Far as I know it's only the one.

[And he nods, meeting her eyes again. God, she has such gorgeous green eyes when they're not accusing him of being the scum of the earth.]

And, well, yeah, I'd say it does. But on the other hand, some people learn better with a lot of variety and practical application than spending all day with books, you know?

[Grinning over at him with some pretty obvious affection, she continues to nod along. Maybe the next time he pauses, she'll lean in for a kiss. Or maybe that's too forward. Maybe he's just looking for a tour guide. Maybe she's just being a little over the top.

But god he's so good-looking and charming and smart and like totally perfect.]

Are you one of those people?

[And he's not letting go of her gaze, not for a minute. He recognizes the signs of attraction well enough, and it's really hard to resist making out with her in the middle of the pub. Part of it has got to be those teenage hormones--but part of it, that rational voice in his mind that sounds an awful lot like Delta would if he weren't stuck as a frog right now, is just that seeing her happy and relatively carefree is so fresh and good. Was she ever really like this?]

I'd say so, yeah. I like working with my hands. More of a practical way of doing things, you know?

Yeah. [Carolina nods, feeling that urge to kiss him growing steadily until really she can't hold it in. She sets her butterbeer down and leans in to try and kiss him, albeit with some serious inexperience. It's not going to be anything like kissing adult!Carolina. ]

[Oh my god how adorable and cute. York kisses her back very gently, digging his nails into his palms at the effort to restrain himself. When he pulls away after a few nice long moments he's grinning like a maniac. He doesn't say anything, though, wanting to check her reaction.]

[She presses her lips against his in the only technique she knows (spoiler: it's not moving her lips). When he pulls back, she grins up at him in return. She always thought kisses would be better than wet and kind of sticky. Still, her face is bright with excitement.]

I like being practical, too.
