9th Little Hope

[Vivi sits on her bed in her dark room, knees pulled to her chest, shivering and talking to herself.]

Come on, I have to be brave. I can't let a little thing like the dark scare me! [She sniffs loudly. Nope, totally not crying. Not at all.] Or the creepy things in the shadows....

[She's silent for a moment then sits up abruptly, almost yelling at the empty air.] I'm not afraid of you!!

[She hops off the bed and boldly pushes open her door then turns back to yell at the shadows.] I'm going adventuring now and you can't stop me!

N-no! Well...maybe... [She's really trying to be brave here but it's hard!] I can't see anything and there are creepy things in the dark...

I'll come find you. That way you won't have to be alone in the dark.

[He can't see well in the low visibility environment, so he's gonna bump into Vivi...literally.

Not sure what that was, but the close proximity is enough for him to recognize her after a few seconds.]

[Vivi's knocked to the ground with a small yelp. It's totally surprise and not fear. Definitely not fear. After a moment she recognizes him from his voice and calms down...at least a little.]

Uh-huh, I think so. What are you doing here?

Well, I thought I'd go for a stroll. I prefer it when it's dark.

[He isn't bothered by the darkness at all; the castle has tried, but his reaction just wasn't worth it, and since then has left him alone with all its subtle shadowy creep-out noise stuff. Plus, well, he's really trying to find people to troll about all this castle business but he'd never take pleasure in scaring a child.

He'll bend down, holding out his hand to her and smile.]

Kermit's in his room with a candle lit, careful not to let the flame hit the pages of the journal as he reads]

Hey, it's okay! It won't last forever. No bad things ever do.

It won't? You mean the sun will come back soon? [There may be another small sniffle but that doesn't mean she's crying. Nope.]

[he reaches down to where his banjo's resting against the table and plucks a few strings to make sure it's still in tune. once that's done, he starts singing, softly]

The sun'll come out ... tomorrow!
Bet your bottom dollar that, tomorrow?
There'll be sun...

[Eleven spots the little one on his own wanderings. He smiles and slowly makes his way over, careful not to startle her]

Hullo, Vivi.

[As soon as she hears him she runs in the direction of his voice, crashing headlong into his legs. Not that she cares. She's too busy hugging his legs with joy.]

Hi Doctor!

[Legs? Forget that! He scoops her up to give her a proper hug]

I haven't seen you in quite a while. How have you been, my dear?

[Carefully scouring the halls is someone with a lantern rigged up on her staff, carrying it over her shoulder to light the area around her, acting as a beacon. Her free hand is at her side, ready to engage anyone or anything foul traversing the halls. Her ears pick up on small footsteps and whispered words, making her look around cautiously.]

Who's there?

[Vivi's slowly making her way along the hallway, feeling along the walls so she doesn't get too lost. She sees the beacon before she sees the owner. Even a little light is a welcomed sight!]

I-It's me! Who's that?

[Helpful as always, of course.]

[Her ears flick, sensing you come closer, stopping in place once she hears your young voice echo. She sounds so young, there's no way she could be that much of a threat. Poor kid, out here all alone. Her body relaxes a bit and she tries to appear non threatening.]

This is Alleyne; I'm merely on patrol. Are you okay?

[well then, have some disembodied clip-clopping of hooves echoing down the hallway]

I'M NOT SCARED OF YOU! I'M NOT SCARED OF YOU I'MNOTSCAREDOFYOU! [With that she claps her hands over her ears and takes off running...in what she hopes is the opposite direction.]

Child, what art thou - [and oof, some kind of small child has run headlong into her. Luna stares for a moment before finally casting a light spell; looks like humans can't see in the dark.

The ball of blue light at the tip of her horn illuminates the area, enough for the kid to see a tall blue pony peering curiously at her.]

[A dim flickering light can be seen down the hallway for a few seconds before Conan draws near enough to recognize her.]

Vivi? Are you okay?

[toyhopes]

Conan! [He won't see much of her before she launches herself at him and hugs him tight.] I'm so happy you're here!

[He pats her on the back awkwardly. Really, she was so much like Ayumi.]

What's wrong, Vivi?
