Does anyone happen to know where I could get my hands on a telescope? It doesn't have to be permanent just one night is fine.

Oh, and fishing poles? Is there anywhere here to fish? Still learning the place.

Can this place bring people back from the dead?

What if they were very, very sick before they died?

[As always, Raine dictates in a pleasant voice, though this time it's tinged with a bit of frustration.]

I think the castle is rather determined not to let Aradia leave. Every time we would like to leave on an expedition, something seems to happen.

Therefore, we will be leaving next week on the morning of the twenty-first, losses or no losses. In the event of a world change, we will be leaving immediately after it is finished, if the twenty-first sees us in Asgard or wherever. [Okay, she'd really like to visit Asgard, but that's not the point.]

Anyone who would like to go, please be fully prepared by then. We'll be leaving no later than 8 AM. [And she underlines the time and date for emphasis once it's appeared on the page.]

Please feel free to contact Aradia Megido or myself if you have any questions.

[And she writes up a quick bulleted list:]

-Destination is Lastlook
-Part of the journey will be mounted or on carts
-Part will be by water
--If you have a Water-type Pokemon you would like to bring, I can teach it Surf
-Expected travel time is three weeks total, allowing for several days at destination

[She's avoiding her studies. Her notes set aside, but still in hand as she turns around the corner. Her laughter echoes on the walls of the castle. She's certain someone will hear her. Someone will tell her that she's being irresponsible, that she should mind her lessons. It is for her own improvement. Yet, she is bored with the lessons and instead wishes to find something far more enjoyable.

She moves to turn down the south corridor, but instead she's met with a wall. The sudden shift of landscape startles her and the book she'd been holding launches from her hand, opening to blank pages on the floor near her feet.]

This is quite unsettling. I am certain that the south corridor was here this morning.

[Stepping away from the wall, she turns around and looks for her misplaced book.]

I suppose I am to return to my studies, if I am not able to find my way around what is to be my home. [She says it out loud, but scoops her book up and instead turns around to race the other way. Ignoring her studies once more. They will be there in the morning.]

How many of you are going on the Lastlook expedition?

More importantly, who is staying behind?

[ Aradia ]

I heard you woke up. Feeling any better?

[Then Dairine pauses, and after much deliberation, starts another filter. This time she writes down her message and leaves no name.]

[ Tony Stark ]

Thanks for taking care of Spot during the family camping trip. I am glad to have him back in one piece.

On another note, you’re musical tastes suck.

[this time, he doesn't get violently angry. And maybe he should have, for this horrible feeling in his chest. He wants to get mad, throw things around and set pieces of the castle on fire to let it know just how much he hates it.

But, he can't bring himself to. Whatever anger he has just buckles inward when he realizes that he's given up on some things.

He's never going home, and he knows it. He's never going to see the people that are important to him ever again. They aren't deceased, but they might as well be--forever whole worlds apart.

So... he takes a little basket of things out to a quiet spot on the castle grounds, and sets up beneath one of the trees. A certain beloved teapot, little folded up notes that have never been given, and a pair of leather-and-fur mittens--all collected around a couple sticks of incense.

After settling down in front of the little makeshift shrine, wrapped up in the fire-colors of the setting sun, he lights the incense with a pinch of his fingers... and just stays there.]
