[What ho Paradisa. If you are the lobby now, you might find a somewhat unusual sight: three kids - well, two kids and one young teenager, really, the teenager conspicuously naked and sprawled out on one of the lobby couches. The teenager has long blue hair and is filthy. The kids are relatively clean, one of them - the older boy - graced with a crown of pale blond hair, the other a smaller little girl wearing a traditional robe and black pigtails. There's a journal nearby of course, and it picks up a voice which might sound a bit familiar:]

Hey... person! Hey! How come you're naked?

[Then the younger boy:] Because he's got no clothes, stupid.

I'm not stupid! [That seems to rile the little girl up; she gives the boy next to her a push.

It looks like this minor ruckus is enough to wake the third boy anyhow.] Whuh...?

[What do, Paradisa?]

[Wandering through the lobby is a rather routine occurrence, as is seeing what might be classified as unusual sights. That was the way of Paradisa, wasn't it? The unusual was usual.

But these three children stand out- they look and feel familiar. She's got a pretty good guess as to what's going on. So she's approaching with a gentle smile on her face. See? Not scary at all.]

You seem to be in need of some assistance.

[he makes a little noise, but doesn't say anything. this chick looks like the kind of person who might actually belong here, for sure. he's going to keep quiet and let the others do the talking, because Legato is older than him and Rin... has people skills.

he'll stare at her in the meantime, though.]

[yeah, she seems important. From his seat on the floor, he looks up... and politely shakes his head. No need to concern yourself with us, madam.]

[Galadriel is hugely magnificent, which means she's also hugely intimidating. Rin stares at her in tongue-tied silence for a long moment.]

... Hi!

Hello! [Galadriel kneels down to be closer to their level.]

This place is strange to you, is it not? Please, allow me to aid you where I may. [A pause because she realizes she's at a distinct advantage here.] I am called Galadriel.

[She addresses all three of them at first, but then turns to Legato specifically.] You must be cold.

[he is at a severe disadvantage next to the other two, now for even more reasons. so until he's spoken to, he's just going to get all quiet (really quiet) and kind of focus on her with this vaguely suspicious look.]

[being addressed directly causes him some distress... but something about her pulls out an answer instead of making him clam up like some other intimidating figure might have]

...I'm fine.

[Don't worry, Zelman. Rin is attached to your hand!!! SHE'S GOT YOU, BRO.]

Um, we just got here I guess. I know I was here too a... while ago? I don't even know how long ago. I don't get it. Why are we here?

Would that I could give that an answer, little one. I arrived here much as you did, taken suddenly and without warning from my home. But you need not worry overmuch. You will be safe in your time here, I give you my word.

[She offers a charming smile, aiming the brunt of it at Zelman and Legato since she sees winning them over will be the most difficult. Relax, little guys, she means no harm.]

Might I ask your names?

[he makes a little mumbling noise, but... keeps looking at her.

CHARMING, THIS ONE.]

[and she gets even less from this kid. Avoidantly glancing away, offering no answer.

Really, their people skills are incredible.]

[Super formal, abruptly.] My name is Asano Rin, daughter of Asano Takoyoshi and Toki. My dad runs the Asano dojo! This guy is Zelman but he doesn't like his name, that other guy won't talk!

[Oh, thank you, Rin! Of course, she knows very well who you are, but it's hardly reassuring to have some strange woman randomly know your name.]

Well met, then. Rin. Zelman. My quiet young friend. [She gives a small nod to each in turn.]

Is there aught you would ask of me? I will answer as best I may. If not, might I ask if you have been given a place to stay?

Hey...! [he even knew she would do that this time and she still did it wrong! Galadriel needs to know this part:] I do like my name.

Is there a king in this castle?

[he was trying to think of his own question, but Zelman's is way better than anything he could think of. That's an important question! So, he'll just add onto it]

Yeah, who is in charge here?

[She's the caboose here, answering Galadriel's question:]

Nope! We don't got anybody watching us. He's oldest but I don't think he can do it. [Gesturing at Legato, and then looking at Zelman.] If you like your name, why don't you like it being told?

One might say that the castle governs itself. There are kings here, but as they have been separated from their people and their lands, they have no more authority than you or I.

[Here she turns to regard Rin.] Thank you, dear one. [It's an easy endearment with her and it rolls off her tongue.] No doubt, Zelman will tell you that there is a certain power in names. But as you have my own as well, I think it need not concern you overmuch. [A conspiratorial wink at Zelman. Is this helping at all?]

[Finally, she goes back to addressing the group as a whole.] You are welcome, then, to stay with me for a time, if you have no other arrangements. I realize, of course, that you have little reason to trust me over any other, so I am more than willing to offer whatever assurances you will require.

[...yes. he switches to looking just a little more pleased.]

I don't need to stay with anyone. I'm fine on my own.

[oh, that's handy. Zelman speaks what's going through his head, so he just nods to agree to it.]

[Rin, on the other hand, shoots them both a skeptical look.]

Oh yeah? Where are you supposed to sleep? On the couches down here? Dummies.

[Rin, you are clearly the logical one, here.]

I will not hover, if that is what you fear. I know well children your age are perfectly capable. But I would ensure your safety; not all here are as well meaning as I. [And she doesn't want some overenthusiastic vigilante thinking this is a great time to take out some threats.]

[not a dummy. B< glares at Rin a little.

...and then he looks at Legato. what do you think, man?]

[oh, he's looking at him now? Guess he should act like the oldest, then.

So, he levels an even look at Galadriel, trying to get over the awe and apprehension enough to really see. And think.

He certainly doesn't trust her. Beyond his natural distrusting tendencies, he doesn't even have the typical memories of a maternal figure that he can subconsciously compare her to.

He can't figure out a reason for her hospitality, especially when she claims it to be different than others. So...]

Why?

... Can we see where you wanna take us first? [Before they decide on anything.]

Why? [Hmm. It's more difficult to answer than it should be. How does one explain kindness without cause?] I would not see you harmed and it is no trouble to offer you my hospitality.

And I would be glad to show you. It is a reasonable enough request.
